When I boot up my PC, like normal, a bunch of words run down the screen, then it tells me to press F1 to continue or press del to go into settings. Now my question is how do I tell the computer to boot directly to windows instead of asking me to press F1? Thanks a lot for your response.

Have you overclocked at all? and why does it say to press F1? Something is going wrong have you overclocked or something? Did you assemble that system yourself?

F2 = load defaults and continue. But it would be really good to know why it is saying that to start with... Read the sentance just above the F1 and tell me what that says.

I built this PC myself. I'll have to restart to see what it says. Hold up

hm, HAVE you tampered with the defaults at all? if you think you havn't, then you probably wont care if it "loads defaults and continue"s. that might stop it.

ok, it lists my CPU, disk drives, hard drives, then it says floppy drive failed(40), then it says "press F1 to continue, or press del to enter setup" when I press F1 it loads up Vista normally.

Then Disable it on the first page of the bios... So it is not looking for it.

Set the boot order to boot from the hard drive first instead of the floppy drive. There, problem solved. (It's in the BIOS just in case you didn't know.)

Go into the bios... Usually the top option on the left hand side... Click that and you should see a "floppy" listed there somewhere... If that fails... The manual that came with the motherboard should tell you where it is. Though I don't get why it is complaining.
