if you would have to buy either, I would suggest getting Vista now. It isn't as bad as people make it to be and for me its pros outweight the cons. However, if you already have a copy of XP, wait to buy Vista.crg13729
Gimme a couple of pro's.

DirectX 10 for the future of course. Highly streamlined, better built in searching, Aero looks nice but it's just eye candy of course and there are a lot of little things that add up to a good experience. Plus all the games I own now play fine on Vista.Edit: There is also the media center stuff I used in Beta which was nice though sorta buggy. I was only given Business for free so can't say how this ended up.
vista is a pain in the a@ss for gaming. Lots of games fail to finish installing. Many more fail to work. Also when they do work it will run slower on vista than on XP. If I were you install both.chansaetactually all of my games run much better on vista than they did on xp.
I'd definatly wait until early 2008 before going with vista, it always takes microsoft atleast a year to work out the major bus escailly if ur a gamer.Madkatt44The bugs are with the drivers not the vista OS. Everyoen hear seems to blame Microsoft because nvidia cannot get their drivers right. That's dumb...
