All versions of Vista support 64 bit processors and DX10.  However the 64 bit version of Vista is the only one that takes advantage of having a 64 bit processor.

My suggestion is to stick with the 32 bit version of Vista as Vista 64bit is still very buggy.

Very buggy? That is completely not true. I'm sure some people have had problems, but the same can be said about Vista in general. Although if you are working with older or obscure hardware (where drivers may be hard to find), you probably should stick to 32-bit.

64-bit is available on all editions of Vista except starter http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/windowsvista/editions/64bit.mspx

I've experienced some compatibility issues with programs in my 64 bit version of Vista, albeit not many. I believe 64 bit versions also have a function which says drivers MUST have a valid digital signature, which means I could never play Trackmania because it wouldn't let StarForce install  There's probably a way to circumvent that restriction, though, I've never really looked into it.

Vista Starter edition doesn't support directx 10 or 64-bit but that version is only available in third world countries.

Actually, no.  I am right, you are wrong.Â
