wanna upgrade my videocard, need opinions plz

I have a intel core2 duo 3.16ghz with 2ghz ram and an ati hd4870 512meg

right now i wanna buy the geforce3d vision bundle that comes with the samsung 120hz monitor,and i was wondering if the gtx275 would be a big improvement over my videocard.

I know i have to buy an Nvidia card to get the 3d Vision and also to have Physx, and i dont want to spend too much on the card since its already 600$ for the bundle.

Right now i can play any games like crysis, batman, cod5 etc all max at 1680x1050, and i want to be able to stay that way.

Imo the upgrade isint needed at this time, wait at least 6 months for new cards to become available. It you can max everything out no need in upgrading until you can't anymore. (if that's what you want)

Wait until the new DirectX 11 cards come out. They'll be improvements over the cards of today, and are made to support DX11, which might take off like DX9 did.

thx for the replies, but anybody actually have 3d vision and can give me their opinions ?

because i say this for 3d vision but also for physx, i really like the effects physx can provide, it gives more immersion.

Ya a GTX275 is overall better than the HD4870. If you really want to go 3d go for it and pick up a GTX275, specially when GTX275 is like 150 after rebate from fry's

Seriously I wouldn't bother. From what I've heard you have to play most games on lowest settings and even then the frame rate drops by 50-75%. Also the HUD in games doesn't appear in 3D and it can be headache/nausea inducing when glancing between the HUD and the game. Oh and the monitor's just a shi**y TN panel too.

i keep telling people this but you should probably wait for the directx 11 cards to come out its right around the cornor id hate for you to buy 600 dallors of stuff just to be very outdated in some months later
