Yes, this system is very future proof because you have an excellent case with plenty of space as well as excellent cooling. Next, you have plenty of hard drive storage as well as the latest DVD (Blu-ray) drive. Finally, the 1050W power supply will give you plenty of stability and upgradability for years to come! Excellent job! 10/10!

UPS=Un-interruptable Power Supply

It helps protect you from electrical power problems...Brown-outs or Black-outs or Power Disconnections.

Basically gives you time to back-up stuff and Turn-off your computer safely if you need to.

ok well I guess then it depends on how long you need your computer to stay running in order to back up your data. I would suggest something between 60 minutes and 120 minutes. here anything on this page will do fine http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2012710072+1124014397&QksAutoSuggestion=&ShowDeactivatedMark=False&Configurator=&Subcategory=72&description=&Ntk=&CFG=&SpeTabStoreType=&srchInDesc=

I asked 'cause I thought I could get a recommendation from someone with experience with a certain model or something. I don't even know if I should set the power output to 1001-2000 or over 2000 'cause of the monitor and stuff. But thank you for trying.

Some guy wanted to get a PC for $500 an I told him to get this CPU - $61, this Motherboard - $80, and this Ram - $73, this Case - $40, this PSU - $100, this Hard Drive - $55 and this Optical drive - $45, this GPU - $130, and Windows 7 RS for a total of $584. I got over-budget and wanted to know what I should've told him to do differently.

how would you cool a phenom 2 965 in the centurion 5 case for good overclocking? so far this is what i'm looking at.... but would like a push pull with case fans or something work better?

also, this mobo seems to have mixed reviews but averages 5 stars, is really cheap, and will allow me even better ram later, is it safe? i've heard some bad things about MSI mobos.... but it seems to be good. this is my 2nd build btw, but i'll have a guy that works on computers for a living helping me (he's a friend, i don't have to pay him)

yes that will be an excellent cpu cooler for overclocking. Also you always want the most airflow as you can possibly get inside your case. Unfortunately the case you have only has room for an 80mm intake fan and an 120mm exaust so I'd say get a case that has room for more fans (preferably 120mm or larger). In addition, that selection of the MSI motherboard is excellent (my last motherboard was an MSI and it was very stable and easy to work with, so trust me you will like this one). Also if you would like me to suggest a case for you just let me know (also tell me what video card is in this build so that I can determine how much cooling you need).

RAM - $54 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148212

Hard Drive - $55 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136358

Optical drive - $45 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827249054

power supply - $50 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817152028

video card - $95 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102824

hey, sorry i thought this thread had died. it's actually a workstation, i'll be using an ATI firepro v5700 in it, they have one large fan already on the card, idk if that matters.

i'm buying TOMORROW, and for who knows how long the tempest has a 20 dollar rebate, i'd be willing to pay another 10 bucks for this if it's a better case. and it has blue lights.

The cooler master centurion 534 case has a bit better air flow cause it has larger fans.

yes it most certainly is because it has lots of large fans. Also, yes Antec power supplies are excellent cause I'm running an Antec power supply right now and have never had any problems with it.

Here's what you should do:

Make up a budget(USD, CD, or GBP) and make the best PC you can and save the links; then if you find someone that needs a PC with that budget, you'd already have the links. That way you'd have more efficiency, experience, and SPEED; with less remorse conserning suggestions.

Here's one to start you, build a $500-US PC. Sorry if I suggested something you don't wanna do.

Thanks UltimateGamer! Here is my question related to the other thread you responded in. Maybe you or another member knows how to fix this. I bought a Gigabyte 9500GT 512MB GPU put in a PC with a 3.2GHZ P4ht and 500W with 16 amps on the 12V + and - rails and it is not working. I get the "This device cannot start (Code 10)" error when I check the hardware device manager. Nvidia's website says you need to enable "assign IRQ to VGA" in BIOS for it to work. http://www.nvidia.com/object/IO_13957.html (Thanks DigiTM73) So I guess the PSU's low Amps isn't the problem. The problem for me is that I do not have that option in my BIOS to change- I have the latest Bios from Dell's website too. I have also tried the driver from the included disc and the newest one from Nvidia's website. Gigabyte's website shows something about flashing the BIOS but I am not sure about that. Anyone know what to do?! Also, is this a "glitch" for this specific card or Nvidia cards in general or just a problem with this outdated PC? Just wondering if I should buy a different card and avoid a certain brand. Thank you for any input!

I'm not a good builder and I don't know much about what the Brits are buying; I think they go to OCUK, but I'm not sure.

Yeah for that money I suggest the same build as smc. Although if you want to go ATI get 965, if you want nvidia I7 920.

xflamedemonx

No one else is responding, so here's what I came up with, and note I'm not a good builder:

Hard Drive - $70

Optical Drive - $60

Operating System - $110

Power Supply - $90

So far - $330; Then the important Parts...

Motherboard - $100

RAM - $73

GPU - $70, Probably get something better

'Cause you're on a budget go with AMD's AM3 Socket - $40:$249

Total - $603

I like this monitor for some reason - $150.

Hi. So basically i want to run crysis on very high, but at the same time i want it to be at 1500 canadian. Also include all extras. I have monitor and speakers, so besides those.

Please use newegg.ca to help me!

There are a couple things i am sure of.

it needs:

A graphics card that is powerful, to run crysis very high

6gb ddr3 ram

intel core i7 920

64 bit windows OS

So you guys help me out here! I was gonna buy a prebuilt pc, but they find ways to trick you by cheaping out on important things. This is also my first time building a PC. So i ask you to direct me to a good online PC building guide. I do know alot about computers, but have never attempted building one.

Thank you all so much for everything

corsair is a great brand. I dont know much about ram tho. If you suggest them, then they must be good.

I don't know much about RAM either, its just that that one has a good Cas Latency and was reasonably priced.

NVIDIA or ATI Graphics?

whichever you think will run crysis on very high but also be the cheapest. When i say cheap i dont mean i want a card that runs crysis poorly. Just out of the ones that run it well, pick the one that has the most bang for buck.

So far $1063 for your important parts; you can spend the rest on your Hard Drive, Optical Drive, OS, Case and Power Supply, which is not really something you should ask me on. Someone already finished one on the other thread; but if you like these parts, ask someone to help you finish.
