Well, as I said in the topic, I want to download a free but good PC game. I already downloaded TrackMania, it is a lot of fun. Any other recommendations?
psy ops is free and a pretty good pc game. It was originally a retail release and its of retail quality. not too old either. Its a scifi style third person action game if you like those.
Ur-Quan Masters - Not really my type of game, but a lot of people seem to like it.
Beneath a Steel Sky- Abandonware adventure game.
System Shock 2 - Too scary for me, but it's a much-loved game.
Freespace 2 - Again, not my kind of game, but it was highly rated.
And if you're up for something light and stupid, check out Dink Smallwood for a few hours of mindless entertainment.

Since you have so conveniently mentioned Star Control II: The Ur-Quan Masters for me, I won't have to bring it up. (Words cannot express how highly I recommend that game; it's clawed its way to the top of my greatest games of all time list, and my avatar is derived from it.) Also, I'm not sure if System Shock 2 counts as legal freeware; you might end up moderated for that link. Still, it's another one of the greatest games of all time and wholeheartedly recommended by myself. Beneath a Steel Sky is actually legal freeware, so that one can slide. And Freespace 2? I think there was a legal loophole that permitted its distribution in the form of Freespace SCP. Anyway, I'm feeling the urge to play some Cave Story right about now, just so I can complete it for once. (Don't want to take my word that it's good? Watch DeceasedCrab's Let's Play Cave Story and decide for yourself.)

Ah, I assumed legality since Underdogs was distributing them. (I see now the more accurate definition of "abandonware"--which I guess doesn't apply to BaSK) I guess it's more of a it's-sorta-illegal-but-no-one-cares sort of deal.
Rising Eagle - only about 1 or 2 servers and only like 7 weapons but it's still fun
BMW M3 Challenge - pretty fun but gets a while getting used to
Psi-Ops - a pretty good story and nice powers make this a really fun game
Deus Ex, Thief, Hitman 1 and 2, Psychonauts, Tomb Raider Legend, Second Sights, Commandos: Destination Berlin: All free games on gametap. Look for some other good games on gametap. I think there are 142 free games and like 10 that are good.
