Since Im getting tired of the recent AAA game's mediocricy I'd like to try some indie games. The only indie games I have played was Braid and Bastion. What are in your opinion must play indie games?

BTW rpg are my favorite genre followed by action adventure. I value story and good gameplay the most.

Sorry for my bad grammar.

Hey especially if you love turn based RPGs you might want to check this out. A unique indie RPG with a Yahtzee dice game battle system. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/terncraftgames/neo-victorian-skirmish-squad

I'm playing Rogue Legacy right now. While it doesn't really have a story, the game is fantastic. It's a very challenging platformer that requires you to pass skills onto your kin after you die and level up your fortress using the gold you collect until you finally have an ancestor powerful enough to defeat a boss and advance the game.

  • Mark of the Ninja
  • Don't Starve
  • Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons
  • Limbo
  • Stealth Bastard
  • Hotline Miami
  • Trine 1&2
  • Revenge of the Titans
  • Stacking
  • Chivalry
  • Natural Selection 2
Are some of the best indie games of this gen. The last two are competitive online games if you are into that. Also keep your eye out on the humblebundle site as it often has humble indie bundles featuring lots of great indie games.

brodelin

www.heroicfantasygames.com/KOTC_Introduction.htm    There's a demo for it

also this one looks promising too...  store.steampowered.com/app/250520

As far as other upcoming RPGs go, be on the lookout for....

Wasteland 2

Project Eternity

Divinity: Original Sin

Torment: Tides of Numenera

Dead State

Age of Decadence

Knights of the Chalice 2

Might & Magic X

Grimoire: Heralds of the Winged Exemplar

I would also do what alot of us RPG fans did when we got disgusted with the direction the genre was going....look to the past.    Now is a good time, before this new generation of old school RPGs is upon us next year.

I will also try some of these out. Trine 2 is a great game because of the difficult puzzles.

That is quite the good list right there ^^ I would put in Shadowrun returns in there aswell.

If you value story you might want to check out To the Moon. It's mainly text based so dont play if you dont want to read. There are a few puzzles but they are pretty easy.

Don't get it if you want a long game with replay value, however, it's only about 5 hours. It's a short but sweet game experience.
