So I was thinking about upgrading my current system's ram and processor speed. These are the components it can take:

Ram:

G.SKILL 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Quad Kit Desktop Memory Model F2-6400CL6Q-16GBMQ

Processor:

AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Deneb 3.2GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor HDZ955FBGMBOX

Current Specifications of my computer:

Motherboard: Pegatron M2N78-LA
Processor: AMD Athlon II X4 620
Hard Drives: 1 500gb Hard drive, 1 2TB hard drive
RAM: 6GB
GPU: ATI Radeon 5850
Power Supply: 750watt

Do you think its worth it to get a upgrade on these items so I can keep my original Hard drive with all the digital copies of my games as well as keeping my OEM Windows 7 64 bit activated or should I just build a whole new system. I want to be as cost effective as possible.

*DO you think the ATI Radeon 5850 will be able to last me for a few more years when I purchase games for the PC?

there is absolutely no need to upgrade your RAM or even your CPU...is there any particular reason you want upgrade. i dont think upgrading will give much of a difference in gaming.

I don't think the RAM upgrade is worthwhile. 6GB is plenty to run just about anything gaming wise, and spending money on DDR2 is not wise as you won't take it with you to your next PC. If it was DDR3, then maybe more worthwhile, but your current motherboard dictates what you can have. The 5850 is still a decent graphics card, so you shouldn't really be struggling with any current games, unless for you it's all about the extra few fps.

I want to play Battlefield 3 and Play all the COD games. I am sick of having little kids on xbox live. PC gaming is more of an adult gaming universe and you can get people saying good game and such. I have a F310 gamepad and all the newer games now a days are going to be able to be configured with it so Iwant to get games that I can play the gamepad with. I am just making sure my system is up to date in terms of hardware.

Its odd, many people say that, but i actually do better with the gamepad. I just suck at FPS shooters. I also find that the keyboard and mouse for me are horrible for gaming.

All depends on the game, even with L3 a Phenom 2 is only 15% faster clock for clock

I agree with the others, no need to upgrade at this time as your PC is good for nearly all current games. I also think that you shold not change your RAM unless you are going to go with DDR3 (which I assume your board does not handle). Your rig should be good for the next year or so.
