[QUOTE="crazymaghie123"]eh...as usual. I wonder how much it actually costs to host each player to a server. Probably a lot less.Magebane
Are you communist or something? Of course it would cost less, its still a business.
Yes, wave the reg flag over my house!
On a serious note, there is a fair price and then theres ripping customers off, thats all I'm wondering. The idea of a monthly fee is to support the developement team while they generate new content and to pay for server charges.

Well, one server with the bandwidth needed to support at least 3,000 people at one time is about $30,000 a month.

With that said, how does NCSoft survive with Guild Wars up and running? I'm just curious. I also heard they are in a bit of (financial) trouble.

GW isn't an MMO. The only place where you have more than the amount of people in your party on a server (what is it a max of 8?) is in towns that have a max of 100 people. Much less of a requirement than MMO's demand.

Interesting, so if the numbers are right then it would be like 10 dollars for each player to play on the server..10 dollars is a specific fee for the server but then it would be like 5 dollars multiplied by total players for their monthly profit and (team fees even though lots of expansions will be released [Daoc had 8])
