Warcraft 3 best RTS/RPG?

i just got command and conquer 3 and it is absolutely HORRIBLE compared to warcraft III

Lol thats all an opinion thing. The two games cater to different play styles not to mention beign sci fi might throw people off just as fantasy throws off some people (like me). Warcraft 3 is a good game and the level editor offers alot of excellent design options for map makers but there is something about the game i feel is lacking that Starcraft seemed to have. As for C&C I love the game, it is pretty much what i wanted out of a new C&C game.

Star Craft is the best...Duhdrewdools

It was okay, but it was just so darn easy too win by using certain troops.  Which you'd think to not use them but you don't have much of a choice.  I did enjoy myself with it but if it wasn't for the cutscenes I would not remember it at all.  What is worse is some  other RTS games used the same engine which was nice the first time round but wasn't that great to begin with.  So it drove me nuts seeing basically the same game over again with a different story.

So no it is not the best at all, overrated yes.

Warcraft 3 is a great game, but in terms of RTS, I starcraft is definitely better.

The scripting is fantastic though and we've seen really cool maps thanks to that... but as for an RTS with RPG elements, I actually think WC3 fails there - to me it's just an RTS, as to most people I believe. If you consider what makes an RPG, well, WC3 doesn't really have that... the heroes are vital, but they're really just stronger units who have the ability to level up... WC3 did not pioneer any genres. It just has a few differences, that's all.

It's still cool though.

Company of heroes is definitely far better than Warcraft 3.

But Warcraft 3 is OK

EDIT: just saw now that it was as an RPG/Strategy Hybrid. Still then it still gets owned by Spellforce

 that's all fine and dandy and I realize pure genres are superior, but my question was involving hybrids so that wasn't really any help. C&C3 is better also, but then again, not really the same category.

Arcanum had quite a steep learning curve, if I remember correctly, but it wasn't a bad game by any means :-)

then again, that's just opinions :-) 

yeah but the game made everything difficult - even the inventory was a chore - good thing copies are going for around $40 online so I can make a tidy profit selling it back...krazyorange

 As I said, a steep learning curve, but once you got over the learning curve, it gets one of the better CRPGs.

Even though Baldur's gate 2 will always remain the best :-) 

OK, Morrowind might be a pretty good concurrent for the title of Best RPG.

Or Fallout 1 & 2
