WarCraft 4 was confirmed long ago simply by virtue of it being the next WarCraft game, but a nice find all the same.

Awesome news for the Warcraft fans. It's just too bad I was never really able to immerse myself into the series. I disliked Warcraft3 pretty strongly, I'm pretty sure this is solely due to the fact I am incapable of beating an easy AI at the game :-).

I'll probably pick this one up.

I love Warcraft ti has an amazing story but if I have to buy 6-odd copies of the game to get the full story I will become very angry.

Blizzard have gone from being an awesome company to a bunch of moeny grabbing idiots.

I'm sorry SC2, but now WC4 is my most anticipated RTS of the decade.

Awesome. I just hope they ignore everything WoW introduces into the story, declaring it non-canon, and just continue where TFT left off.

There really isnt an article. That is the only site claiming WC IV has even been confirmed. Actually it was "confirmed" back in June. It was "confirmed" by the fact Warcraft IV would be the next logical game in the series... I doubt any serious work is happening until Diablo 3 and SC 2 is finished.

No this rumor was denied by Blizzard themselves. The Blizzard RTS team is working on Starcraft 2 only. Blizzard has no plans to start on Warcraft 4 or a "trilogy" set up.crazymaghie123

I'll look for it. Logically though, Blizzard would be pouring all their resources into finishing Starcraft 2 rather than starting up a new title when there is a lot of work to be done.

I'm trying to find the article where the rumor is denied but I'm having troubles. I think Blizzard is shooting to make one billion dollars in a year (or over a 12-month period). Wouldnt that make them the first dev to do so?

Lets see we got:

The WoW expansion coming out. Thats like 10 million copies sold, easily, over a couple months

Then we got Starcraft 2...thats gonna be about 20 million copies sold

Then Diablo 3...lets say thats another 20 million copies sold.

Then factor in the money made off of subscriptions from WoW, and the microtransactions from Diablo 3 (think Hellgate: London), and Blizzard just might pull it off.

20 million copies? LOL Not even any Sims game has sold that much. Diablo 2 sold around 4 million. I doubt they will sell 20 million combined.

This announcement has been confirmed by Blizzard as a fabrication. Small sites make up BS stuff that's a matter of misquoting, or release obvious predictions (like the coming of GTA 4) as "insider info" just to generate traffic. That's probably what happened here. Either that or a simple, honest miscommunication.
