No.
As much as I would love a wc4, I dont think it should be annouced for at least another 5 years. One, Blizzard's RTS team is working on SC2. Two, WoW pretty much twisted the lore of WC3, so if WC4 does come out, it will have some crazy story. There are some other issues why its not a good idea to release it now but Ill save em for later.
So pretty much - NO.
Well it seems that blizzard is finally making all those long awaited sequels we now have a Starcraft 2 coming out and a Diablo 3 coming out(D3 is my personal fav) and hopefully Blizzard will take a break from that stupid MMO(in my opinion) WoW and make a warcraft 4 that everyone can enjoy. Gonig back to reality though, Blizzard will probably just stick to telling any and all Warcraft story line through WoW. So they will probably not bother to make a Warcraft 4, but you can do what I did, hope. Try it, it worked for Diablo 3 lol!
Im gonna have to disagree. WoW is a wonderful game, certainly upgrade to MMO genre. [I DO NOT play WoW, so dont throw the WoW fanboy card] Since WC3 is one of my favorite games [if not THE favorite], I was disappointed with the killed storyline, but it wasnt that big of a deal. All the tie-ends are being done (ei; what happens to Illidan, Arthas, all that stuff).
The one thing Ill blame WoW is that all the great custom maps became trash after it was released. It was like all the intelligent mapmakers for WC3 left WC for WoW. There was a sudden and rapid decrease in new maps. Less playtime for old classics. (Sheep/anthing tag, Tower Rushes, Life of a Peasant, etc etc -- basically MANY others) Now, all we have is DOTA/DOTA-players. Which is nice, but I would rather have the old age with variety in Customs.
Big warcraft 2 fan from the mid 90's. First game as a kid to get me to quit console gaming to play pc games. Now big fan of both. Gotta say WarCraft 4 prob won't hear anything bout that to like 2011-2012. Not that i don;t want to its just with StarCraft 2 prob hitting 2009 and Diablo 3 prob 2010. Those two games alone will prob be played so much for years to come. Heck i still play StarCraft on bnet or on iccup. Diablo 2 alot of old timers still play that i know.
I remember when i first saw WarCraft 3 it blew me away. I never really gave it to much time though. Still got the Collectors Edition for it. Its just StarCraft had me hooked in 2002-2005 real bad.
I just quit WoW. I been a casual player over the years where i play for a few months then stop. Not bad game, just not my cup of tea. I only pop on here and there cause i have oriignal collectors edition and enjoy running around with a mini diablo or zergling.
Can't Blizzard do one of the following?
1. Set in in like ten thousand years later, not a sci-fi game obviously (but the gnome and goblins already introduce some future looking stuff) but just long after the events of WoW with new rulers and everything but the same world and history.
2a. Use a completely different fantasy world with a new history and set of races or 2b. Just make a brand new fantasy RTS IP?
with StarCraft 2 prob hitting 2009 and Diablo 3 prob 2010. Sumotaii
O God, I really dont want to think that it'll take Diablo 3 that long to come out...
After all of the map-makers left for WoW i was forced to take up map making, I'm just now getting good at it.Im gonna have to disagree. WoW is a wonderful game, certainly upgrade to MMO genre. u want them makin four games at once?Unknown_Hero3
Why does every single person idiotically refer to a big business corporation as if they were an singole person? You think Blizzard is just one guy making these games all by himself in a room with a computer? Blizzard isn't a small company anymore they have LARGE different teams of people working on these games. Blizzard, like I said, is NOT a single or small group of people developing and manging these games all by themselves. That doesn't even make sense.
u want them makin four games at once?Unknown_Hero3I dont see why WC3 had to be the one out of the four that didn't get a new game.

What he says is true, while there making Diablo 3 and Starcraft 2 simultaneously they still have people periodicly working on WoW, it would be more then easy for them to create another section of blizzard to make a WC4.
I heard that Blizzard wants to keep any and all of their IP's at 3 games (in which case, we won't see another Warcraft RTS, Diablo 3 will be the last installment, and there'll be room for one more Starcraft after SC2). Eventually, they'll be starting new franchises which will also be limited to three installments.
This is just what someone on the forum said in one of the Diablo 3 threads when there was a big fuss about the game in the past days, so take it for what it's worth. I don't know if it's true or not, but it seems plausible to me.
Is Diablo as good as its hyped up to be? I'm considering trying it.That_WC3_Guy
I think Diablo 2 is. Diablo 1 isn't all that great to me, but still worth at least trying out. The Diablo Warchest is a very worthy buy.
Is Diablo as good as its hyped up to be? I'm considering trying it.That_WC3_Guyim sure it will be but we have only scene 20 minutes of the game
[QUOTE="That_WC3_Guy"]Is Diablo as good as its hyped up to be? I'm considering trying it.Unknown_Hero3im sure it will be but we have only scene 20 minutes of the gameI honestly know almost nothing about Diablo, is it a troop movement game or what?
Blizzard is currently making almost no money off of Warcraft 3 because of the free BNet, so Blizzard should make Warcraft 4 to make more money off of the disks, if not to satisfy the consumerThat_WC3_Guy
As a Diablo fanboy that has been a fanboy since he first tried out Diablo 2 when he was 8 to 9 years old and still plays D2exp on bnet now that he is 15, I amd force to say OMG! You havent played Diablo 2 yet! Well its definitly worth the buy! You must absolutly try it, if youre ok with not great graphics (well atleast compared to the graphics we get now) then it's definitly something you'll like, unless you dont like RPG's then maybe not... Anyways as Unknown said, The battle chest is what you should go for.

no you just got one character...its a RPG

Troop.....Movement.......Ouch my chest hurts.......Nah its an awsome mouse button mashing, hack and slash and all around fun RPG.
P.S. oops it was JP_Russel that mentioned the warchest not Unknown, my mistake
Hell no, that warcraft **** has been getting a lot of love from Blizz. U should be pleased with all the stuff they been making based on WC(i wished they payed this much attention to SC), they made an MMO, an expansion not too long ago and i heard they r making a MOVIE(the fans made DOTA which is huge, ever heard of that?). If u got tired of WC3 then that sucks for u, it seems to me u dont like the game all that much if ur whining for a new game already. I been playing SC since 98, for a game so old i think its very much alive and i still love it.
If Blizzards decides to make a new WC b4 2010 and im gonna be seriously pissed . Appreciate ur game and keep playing it till it dies, if u get bored b4 that is not blizz fault.
Warcraft 3 The Reign of Chaos has been around for about five years now, coming up on six. The Frozen Throne has been around for four years, coming up on five. I think its about time Blizzard gave some love to its other strategy game. If anyone has any opoinions about the subject I'd like to hear them.That_WC3_Guy
Give them a chance. They have three games in development right now...
Once SC2 is out maybe they'll look to WC4... but I doubt it until they're done with WoW.
It has to wait its turn like the rest of them. You didn't honestly believe that Warcraft 4 had any chance of getting announced before the next Diablo game, did you? Man, a lot of people would have been pretty bummed about that (including me.)
I don't know. I just can't get too much into the competitive games these days, especially RTS. I mean, I will buy Starcraft 2, sure, but I'm really not in any particular hurry for it to get here. It was Warcraft 3 that finally kind of burned me out on the whole RTS genre, incidentally. I haven't cared a ton about RTS games since I got bored with that one.
The RTS genre was cool for a while, but I'm certainly past the novely of it at this point, and now I feel like I'm playing something that's too fast paced and too frantic to be genuinely strategic and is really more about knowing the proper counter-units and and build orders and then being able to micromanage well than it is about any genuine "strategy." When I play Civilization, I feel like I'm playing a strategy game. When I play a RTS game anymore, I feel more like I'm playing an action game that happens to involve some archaic memorization. I'm sure I'll enjoy Starcraft 2 for a while though at any rate.
awesome, i love hack and slash mouse clicking =D, I think I'm gonna give it a try, probly go to target and get it tommorow, I'm gonna crash for tonight ill be back on tommorow.

You seriously had no idea what kind of game Diablo 2 is? It's carrot and stick, squared. It really must be played online to get the most out of it though. You can pretty much play it as a single player game on battle.net if you want. Just make password protected games. Then when you feel like you've had enough of single player, you'll already have a character going online. You will still get all of the story and cut scenes and everything else. The only major difference between offline single player and that is that offline single player remembers all of your dungeons and everything, but it's not that big of a deal as there is a waypoint system. I'm pretty sure there are also some items that only show up online, but I may be wrong on that.

That is exactly how I feel, how the story is all messed up and all, My Idea is to make Warcraft 4 just be separate from WoW, So that WoW never happened at all, so all of the main characters aren't dead.
Agreed.No.

Diablo 1 was an awesome game for its day, but it hasn't aged too well, particularly the graphics and not being able to have your character run. Still a remarkable dark soundtrack and good atmosphere. Battlenet multiplayer was groundbreaking, but rampant cheating made the single-player more appealing.
Diablo 2 still holds up well, and Battlechest is worth getting for that alone. D2 is by far a better multiplayer game over Battlenet.
