Blizzard announced Starcraft 2 and Diablo III. What is next Warcraft IV? Checking back to when the last Warcraft game was put out, it was over six years ago.
Im betting Blizzard is going to announce Warcraft IV at next years GDC.

I would be very dissapointed if Blizzard's next game was Warcraft IV...now that I have got my precious Diablo III, I selfishly want Blizzard to actually try a new IP for a change :P
Wow is warcraft 4 it ruined the series but ye wow is WC4..........CrazyFox_444
Huh?
Zomg. Imagine DOTA in Warcraft IV.lordaltay1So what u mean that in Warcraft IV dota would be goood and require skills?
Blizzard has only worked on their big three IPs in the last... how long? Fifteen years? However long it is, it's long enough to be able to say that the chances of Blizzard making a game that isn't StarCraft, WarCraft or Diablo is pretty damn slim.
Blizzard has all but announced a StarCraft 2 expansion, not that one needs announcing for us to know it's coming anyway, and Blizzard has already alluded to a Diablo 3 expansion, but again, it's already a given.
After those, I can see Blizzard working on WarCraft IV, but it's worth considering that it could be an MMORTS.

but those 3 games are genre classics, and popular ones at. and by focusing on 3 games has more pro's than cons if you ask me
If it does, it better not be as hardcore as Warcraft 3.Baranga
How was WC3 hardcore? I found it to be one of the more easier RTS's of the past decade....

I was making an observation, not passing judgement. I don't have a problem with a company sticking to a small number of IPs, though I wouldn't necessarily say it's better.

i know that i was giving my opinion on what you said, not trying to criticise it in any way
I have they release some entirely new game before they go with WCIV.
I can't wait for SC II and Diablo III, but that's about it. I want something new from them. I can live with WC TFT for now.
Even if WCIV is announced any time soon, don't expect it to hit stores till 2015.
I personally like the way that Blizzard does things. They stick with what they know and make sure each game is unique enough to be a true sequal. What on earth are they going to do with a WC4? 1 & 2 paved the way for the future of RTS, Starcraft perfected it, in my opinion, and warcraft 3 made it so WOW was even possible. And D2 is like crack to me! (Can't wait for 3) But WC4, I just dont see it happening. Blizzards got each series where they want it. Even if D3 is a flop, I think they'll still stick with SC for RTS and WC for MMO. Warcraft 3 wasnt even better than the original starcraft, it just proved that orcs look great in 3D.
