So its been out for around two and a half months...How is it? Has it gotten boring or is it as great as ever? How is the population?

It's getting better.. server's are slowly being merged so the population is beginning to feel much more active. They also just released a new patch that fixes a bunch of things, including stability both server and client side, as well as the 2 classes (Dark Elf Tank and Empire Tank). Dwarf MDPS and a Greenskin MDPS should be back in on their way in a matter of time. It had some problems with population to begin with as Mythic created too many servers, hoping to grab as many people as possible and avoid que times, but now the population is just too spread out, so they begun merging, only to find that Fortress sieges and 800 person PVP battles are causing the servers to fail. The latest patch has fixed it so that up to 400 person battles can work apparently, but the really big ones are still causing grief. A good number of people have finally reached level 40 so the fun is really starting to pick up, there are epic battles all over the place. If you haven't bought it yet, I might wait until after patch 1.1 comes in so that you get a better first impression of the game (should be very soon I think.. like mid this month). There are problems, yes, some graphical, some balance, but I feel that Mythic is committed to making this game truly great, and I've had a lot of fun playing it. You need to get yourself in a guild though, because communication between randoms online never quite works out.

I think it will slowly die down...cause it's too much based on PvP, and remember, a lot of people dont like PvP. Wow keeps going cause it has a balance between the two....even if WAR is better at PvP as everyone says

While its true that a lot of people don't like PvP, I would say that a greater number of people do enjoy it, as shown by the number of games with active multiplayers. If people didn't like PvP, would nearly every good FPS game ever made still have active servers? PvP is direct competition, it's challenging, and I think you'll find many people enjoy that kind of experience over the "carebear" monster grind that makes up the large part of wow (war has it too, just not as good obviously as its not the main focus).

I would be more inclined to pick it up if there was a demo...EA Mythic made a bad decision trying to make sure that people couldn't just try it and then say it wasn't for them, they forced people to either buy it or not play...thats not to say I'm not interested..I love PvP

The game is awfully lonely for new players, the first tier and second tiers (lvl 1-21) are pretty much ghost towns. It'll be a little better for the next week or two because as someone pointed out already, they're releasing two new classes to everyone tomorrow I believe. If you can find a decent guild it isn't too bad. I really think that should merge half of the remaining servers to keep the populations high, there are like 10 medium population servers and that's about it. If you do go anywhere though, i'd suggest Dark Crag. It's open rvr so there will be griefers, but you'll actually see pvp outside of the scenarios (aka battlegrounds). The game itself is fairly entertaining though.

Patch 1.1 with the KOTBS and the Blackguard comes out today:

I've checked out 1.1 on the PTS, and Mythic is starting to push the game into the right direction now. The polish is starting to be applied.

There are like three servers that are really active. One being North American server and the other two being Oceanic. My other two servers (where I have 10 toons on each) are pretty much dead. All things considered, these two servers use to be very active (top 5 most active servers). Now, it just comes down to a few. It pisses me off because I have a bunch of high lvl toons on my other two servers, but now I'm forced to make new ones on a more active server just so I can get some action. Seriously though. Mergers do help in certain situations but if the appeal is fading away from the players, the game will continue to die down and become like one of those MMOs that died out. From personal observation, the majority of MMO gamers, like PVE over PVP, so it's hard to keep things fresh and interesting in WAR. It's a pretty good MMORPG but I like WOW more (being a former hardcore WOW veteran). I may even go back to WOW, but play casually (using my cousin's account), but nothing hardcore because I just don't have the time for it.

Edit: Don't get me wrong, Warhammer is a good MMO. I'm only concerned about the population. Other than that, I'm fairly optimistic.

As of right now, they are still at the polishing stage and are heading in the right direction. If they continue in this direction the game will be a successful mmo (as in... the lifetime of the game will be relatively long) and should be appealing to those who like PvP. Its not a guarantee, but its promising at least.
