So i will keep it short, i am considering playing Warhammer online after a long time of reading and seeing it, obviously it did not have the smoothest of starts, but i would like to know what it is like now. are the numerous bugs etc patched out, major problems people have etc and most importantly what the game play is like at the moment and higher on in the game.

Cheers ;)

We have the Orc Choppa and Dwarf Slayer being implemented next month, and an additional zone that's in the same style as DaoC's Darkness Falls in June.

See here:http://www.warhammeronline.com/call_to_arms/index.php

Right now, we just got patch 1.1.1 today. See notes here: http://herald.warhammeronline.com/warherald/NewsArticle.war?id=605

Now, for the state of the game:

- World RvR is active. How much activity depends on the server, but if you want the most population, go to one of these servers:

1. Dark Crag

2. Badlands

3. Phoenix Throne

4. Skull Throne

They're in order of population according tohttp://www.waralytics.com/warservers/index

- Knight of the Blazing Sun and the Blackguard were added a couple of months ago, see here:http://herald.warhammeronline.com/warherald/NewsArticle.war?id=506

1.1 added a lotto the game. Look through the patch notes.

I will defend the game, and say that a month after it was released it was in great shape. Apart from the glaring exploits (which you simply cannot avoid in MMOs at release - heck TF2 still has some exploits for comparison) it was a rather clean package - WoW at release was an unplayable pile of trash. The game has been ironed out hugely and world PvP actually exists and from what I hear...and it's the big selling point.

One of the great things about WoW and this has to be factored in, is its community. At release, WAR nearly hit 1mill subs, but the numbers dropped sharply after WOTLK came out. This means all the WoW players that jumped to WAR, jumped back on the WoW band waggon after its expansion, meaning WAR's community is made up purely of lore fans. These guys are mature and know their stuff...not like WoW's bunch of hippies with no knowledge of background lore because they play the game for lewt and nothing else. You're going to be playing with some interesting people, and from my experiences are highly mature due to the requirement of structured teamplay - WAR's Public Quests tend to go a HELL of a lot more smoothly than WoW's petty 5 man instance.

Overall, an excellent game, and hugely superior to WoW in every field apart from endgame - which can be fixed.

I just quit playing this past month due to what I feel are balance issues between Order and Chaos. I enjoyed the game but wanted to give it another 6 months for things to equal out. I suggest you make sure you're exceeding the system specs as the PvP is the best part and will lag horribly if you don't have a system that can handle the information.

I just started a little over 2 weeks ago. I have a 25 Shadow warrior on Dark crag, and I find the game very fun. Their are slight balance issues, but the ORvR is just massive and fun. I remember a week into the game i was lvl 14 and defending my first tier 2 keep. 50 VS 50 battled it out for mandreds keep, tank wall at the stairs and healers up there healin, dps in an opening off to the side of the stairs pewpewing. It was epic. I love the game.

I agree. I recently started playing my Marauder again because his server is still active in T4, which is Monolith. I logged off some giant fights an hour ago in Eatatine, where it was minimum WB vs WB. We had plenty of big orange crossed swords across the map.

I personally suggest you hold off until the Choppa and Slayer come out, because those two careers are without a doubt going to boost the population.

Was thinking about going back too. I gave it a break and played LOTRO and am level 47 on that (out of 60) but kinda bored. I have a level 30 Chosen (25 renown) in warhammer but on a very low populated server... I'll probably wait till they merge servers more so each is higher populated before going back.
