any warrior can tank...and the diffence between each race isnt going to make your warrior bad or good. whenever you tank for a group just switch to defense mode, put on a shield with a 1h weapon and use all your skills that generate threat. sunder armor is the best to do first, stack it 5 times, throw a thunder clap, demoralizing shout. just try to make the mob as mad as possible towards you, if it gets away, use taunt.
Warriors are great tanks, but in the early stages your not going to really notice it unless you've got some decent gear. Later on, when you hit your 40s (plate gear) if you spec your talents to protection and get hp/armor gear you'll start seeing a difference in tanking ability.
The thing a lot of new tanks don't realize is tanking isn't just about your ability to take hits, although being able to take a sound beating is important, it's just as important that your always keeping aggro and paying attention to the whole battle and what's going on at all times.
Trolls dont make the best warriors. I would've gone with either an Orc or tauren.Johnny_Rock
I would go with Orc as well.
Yeah, like others have said level 12 is a fairly low level to know anything about a class. You've barely started to get any of the class defining abilities. Looks like you've done the defensive stance quest at least. Like others said, get to a level where you can go into an instance and try it out.
The thing to remember with warriors is that they're sort of half a class when you think about it. They have a lot of power to stay up and take a lot of mobs on, but they require a healer to do it. Don't judge how well you can solo things as a basis for long you'll stay up with a healer in an instance. I always felt squishy on mine, but could easily hold on to several elites when tanking in an instance.
You might want to get a quick overview of tanking before you do it. I recommend reading up on tanking a little bit so you have an idea of what skills you'll need and what not. You won't have many of those skills yet, but you should have enough to be able to do the job when you head into RFC. If you're playing with inexperienced players, make sure they know to give you some time to get aggro. I think a lot of folks, espeically those without much experience in groups, seem to think you can instantly get aggro on a target and hold it even when they use their big nuke right off the bat.
yeh just did quest which got me defense stance is helping a bit still not great though thought it could be because i haven't put any points into protectiveness are somet like that mainly cause i duno what each is and how it will effect mehumpas
You definately don't want to solo in Defense stance!
should i put my poitns into tho protection, fury or what ever the other one is
humpas
For leveling up its best to stick with arms or fury spec imo, prot isn't necessary fory tanking the lower level/leveling up instances just make sure you keep a good sheild and some more tank specific armour for instances (High armour and stamina and a bit of agility don't really remeber any of the more high end tank stats at lower levels such as block value, block rating dodge rating etc)
should i put my poitns into tho protection, fury or what ever the other one is

I have a 64 warrior that pretty much went all arms for the first 50 levels except to put 5 points into Cruelty (Fury line) to get an increased 5% chance to crit. Here is his talent spec.
