Sounds like a pretty awesome setup. At $1200? Even if you did pay more, it probably wasn't too much for the convenience of already having it built. I'm sure you'll be happy with it.
Yup. not really. the only difference is the locked memory multiplier and 1 discrete graphics card. his powersupply doesn't even really support 2 graphics card anyways http://www.anandtech.com/show/3871/the-sandy-bridge-preview-three-wins-in-a-row/3i7 2600k and a h67 chipset? lmao what were you thinking, that just ruins the whole build.

If he had a mobo with two slots, than he can squeak by with 6870 cf setup, unless of course he overclocks heavily. Nevermind all that that with h67 micro board :( Still is pretty sick with a sandybridge cpu nevertheless.
By all means, build a better rig for 1200$. :)for that ammount of money you could of got a much better pc, too much ram and too much processor for not enough GPU looks like the classic tale to me... im sure you will enjoy it tho u just could of got something better for gaming

I dont want to be an a$$ or anything but I really dont want to spend the time going around the net and compiling the list since he alredy has bought it, if someone legitimaly would use it I would spend the time cuz I really could.

Don't get GTX 580 : Get Two GTX 560 TI OC :P or HD6950 2GB OC for the price of a GTX 580 much more performances and ur still picking something from overpriced place like i said i can find 750-850W from 64.99$ (750) and 850W as low as 90$-110$ After MIR and there high quality
Those Warranty Kind of Biased Because almost all part in a PC is 3 - 7 Year Warranty and when youg t Hardware Issue you just ship to RMA it not justifiying a such high price for some Extended Warranty that you can buy
anyway if you sure ul want to tag along with the very same hardware piece for 3-5 year you can alway purchase Extended Warranty plan if you feel it gonna Break
if you buy from XFX (For GPU) it Lifetime Warranty +1 = You can sell on ebay and he get the same warranty as you
And I don't Find XtremeGear optical mouse Looking that Great for gaming :P if you want some good mouse pic some Logitech Gaming grade mouse Like the G series or Razer or Cyborb R.A.T if ur in that sort of mice

I was arguing to for him to build it himself, I was just proving a point that even on the same site he used I could build a better pc because that guy called me out... and I only chose the 580 cuz 2 cards on that site are wayy overpriced
First, you didn't list prices. Second, you forgot the OS. Also, 4GB of ram is outdated nowadays. I go over 5 playing Civilization 5.I was arguing to for him to build it himself, I was just proving a point that even on the same site he used I could build a better pc because that guy called me out... and I only chose the 580 cuz 2 cards on that site are wayy overpriced
Obiwan_1O
4GB not outdated lot of peopele run fine with 2GB with 1GB GPU tough 2GB is outdated still performing good in lot of game even in today test 4GB to 8GB is Still a minimal gain if you don't own more then 2GB OF GDDR5 GPU IE : CF HD6950 2GB / SLI GTX 570 :
the most important part in PC remain GPU & Motherboard & CPU : Ram play minor role in lot of test it seem to show : 4GB 1900mhz High Cas > 8GB 1333Mhz Low cas
but if you got like TWO HD4870x2 (4GB OF GDDR5) then you need 8GB OF Ram to fully use all is power n run smooth and alt-tab fast : I don't know if anyone else can confirm this but i remember test where tehy did show CF & SLI that surpass 2GB OF GDDR5 Memory and they found that 8GB Is a essential when going over it
IE GTX 590 who as 3GB OF GDDR5 it sort of essential to get 8GB OF DDR3 for 64 BIT OS

he could always save a bit of money and order a new mobo, But i do understand where you are coming from. All in all its a good build.
Uhhhh wow you got ultimately screwed. I just took every component and added them to my cart on Newegg.com and got a price under $900. >fereldenYou forgot the OS and Labor.......

Yeh... not everyone has a .edu address to begin with, 10 mins eh? care to prove that? and that includes a aftermarket heatsink and all lights/connectors must work.

Windows 7 cost me 100$ and it took me 3 hours to build my rig. What am I doing wrong?
it ur first time doing a rig can take about 3 hour it what it took me but now i know everything about pc so i can get it done in 40 minute without rushing thing at all but you need a long table with all the hardware on it first the mobo and cpu :
Step 1 Take a quick read in motherboard manuel for first time notice if some jumper must be change and if you know where is the AAFP & USB supply for Front connection to ur Computer chasis
Step 2 it should take about 10 minute to remove all part of the box : put on table put piece together in order then the heatsink & thermal paste about 5 minute if ur good
Step 3: the ram 20 second once you know which is A1&B1 for dual channel (2x1GB/2x2GB/2X4GB)
Step 4then come the time to mount the 9 Screw of the mobo to the computer
Step 5 : find out where is The Audio For Analog Front pannel connector : USB front pannel connector : plug the ATX12V 24 pin : put the supply to the fan's :
Step 6 get the video card in : plug the video card : Plug the HDD With Sata Cable
Step 7 install the OS : you're done
I don't know where bough is pc but for 1000$US
I did manage to get HD6950 2GB / PSU Thermaltake BlackWidow 850W for 95$ AFTER MIR / A HAF 922 / 1TB HDD spinpoitn F3 / 2x2GB DDR3 1600mmhz / Window 7 64 BIT OEM : one time use only 100$ : Cpu Cooler Hyper 212+ And Bough 2 Fan at about 70CFM : Asus P8P67-ATX & Core i7 2600K
add ur self another 220$ and you got a gaming Grade mice : Keyboard : and 1920x1080 Monitor 23 inch
You know everything aye.........There is so much that you can teach all of us feeble minded simpletons.now i know everything about pc

True Was just Saying the Basic lol
@freesafety13 lol nice quote n red but yeah i kinda know everything about PC Hardware lol builded lot of pc :P
@ xsubtownerxi know how to build them : cable management the only thing that remain hard lol not all psu have the same Length of cable some are easier to mess with : I like Modular power supply there the only Power supply you can really make a clean job but some modular are annoying
