Wat type of game is Hellgate London?

Is it a MMO? Or is it like Diablo 2 where you host a game and like...8 people can join the game?thankssix_shot

It's not an MMO. It's a first-person action RPG. I'm not sure what the details on multiplayer are. I'm not even sure if there is multiplayer.

it uses instanciing and is very dependent on P2P.

in short HL will be a cross between D2, and an MMO.

I heard an interview where a Bill Roper compare it to Diablo. A diablo with more fun.

When your in town you are with everyone that plays the game, but when you exit town to go quest or whatever then you and your party join into you own "instance" like senario. The game gets harder the more people you have in your party, plus the more exp. One good thing about this is that you dont have to worry about anyone bugging you while your questing.

Hey guys, is the multiplayer a seperate mode like in most games, or is it just like Guild Wars where you can play by yourself but you can always go to a town/hub to get real people to play with? Herrick

Thinks Diablo II + Guildwars.

Single player will be setup up like Diablo II, where you have a campaign you go through, with a full story (Hellgate is supposed to have 30-40 hour campaign). The multiplayer will be more like Guildwars. Everyone (way more then8 people)meets in hubs (the subways, but are like Guildwar's cities) and goes out questing/killing things.

It is a mix of firstperson shoter and a third person rpg:D
