Even though the graphics really put me off from videos, I went ahead and tried the game.

Can I just say... WOW... what a great game and story.

For anyone thinking about it, just go ahead and buy... it's a great journey (just have a box of tissues with you).

SPOILER ALERT (DON"T READ UNLESS YOU HAVE FINISHED THIS GAME):

SPOILER ALERT (DON"T READ UNLESS YOU HAVE FINISHED THIS GAME):

- I understood everything except right at the end, where the Male Doctor walks away from the tombs... what does he do? he takes something out of his pocket and does something?

- It finishes with EPISODE 1: TO THE MOON TICKED, does that mean there is more to come?

As I have said many times before, awesome game and the first time a game has brought me to tears.

Can't wait for more episodes (the main dude who worked on the game has confirmed there will be more episodes).

And a new graphics engine. I would like to see the characters faces and actions more clearly.

The adventure elements could be improved but new graphics engine? I dont think so, its a very very small dev team, I could be wrong btu im pretty sure the next episodes will be same engine, which is fine by me. Sometimes I need crazy graphics and sometimes I dont :P

It blows me away how so little money and such small dev team can do a story so much better then 90% of mainstream games that have huge money backing them. Guess you dont neeed crap load of money to make interesting characters and a good story :P

I would enjoy a few more gameplay elements, but in the end I just want more of this storytelling, good characters and music (which I love).

Can really tell alot of love and care was put into To The Moon

I didn't mean a new graphics engine to look like Crysis... but maybe bigger characters? or a bit better resolution? Sometimes I couldn't tell what the characters were doing...

Its just the style as to how these kind of rpgs are, cant make the graphics much better in RPG Maker I dont think.

On another note, anyone just leave the game on to listen to the music? its soo good :P

Yeah. I've been meaning to get it. Looks wonderful. Takes me back to the SNES days playing RPGs like Secret of Mana.

I disagree, the 2D sprites were expressive as is. Part of the charm is the use of the 16-bit jrpg visuals that go in hand with the references and the 16 bit themes of the abandoned child, the childhood promise and memory loss.

Yup, right away it reminded me of Earthbound, Secret of Mana, except with a much better story and characters (and not as long).

If you liked Chrono Cross, Earthbound or Secret Of Mana im willing to bet youd like this ;)

Haven't played a JRPG in awhile, but I kinda want to. Has anyone here played FFII for the SNES (FFIV in Japan, I think). If so, how does this compare? Would I like To The Moon if I liked that?

Well the part where
Dr. Rosalene role-plays with the kids in the woods and fights the squir-wel-gon, the girl (forgot her name), puts up her hands and shrugs her shoulders.
For a 2D game, it does a great job at catching your attention to little details. Even in their expressions. But I get what you mean FelipeInside.

It's not really an RPG, it's more like an interactive story.

How does it make you feel that
regardless of the happy ending within John's mind the events from before still transpired. River died in a sad state and John lived his whole life without Joey. Feels bad man.
This is the sort of game and storytelling I wish there were more on the PC. This game doesn't need violence, set-pieces and QTE to create atmosphere. And also it shows what the medium can do tell a story. It would not be the same if it were a comic or a cartoon. This is the kind of game that shows that games are an unique type of art. Let's hope other developers take note and we stop getting new iterations of the same games again and again.
