It's laughable when people use that defense on a PC game's message/support board to rebut numerous stability complaints. 999 people have the same problem, but because one person doesn't then that means the game is PERFECTLY stable.

I see that all the time man and its annoying. Hell I even get it at the work place when the Application Deployment guys won't acknowledge a wide spread issue because it works on his Virtual Machine. We have this saying in my area when something should be working we just go "It works on my machine"

there are some problems that are widespread and others that are not. saying "it works on my machine" is a very childish way to put things imo. if one really believes this is a problem for a small number of users one should say so. saying "it works on my machine" makes people want to hit you.

Its especially annoying when you search up an issue with an old game, I sometimes have to go through tons of posts stating that the "TC is a liar because it works perfectly on their PC" and whatnot before actually finding an helpful post.

You crash and someone else doesn't = either you or the devs are doing something wrong.

Sometimes it's the devs, almost all times it's you.

I don't quite get why did you need to make a thread about it, tho. Rage, perhaps?

We are a species that lies significantly and Denies immensely. This kinda crap happens all the time, and damn sure isn't exclusive to video games.

Last time I checked, I didn't need to check with a committee to make sure the threads I create meet your standards.

I love how it only takes six posts for someone to become defensive.

Anyway, on topic, I have the kind of computer that hates the universe and everyone in it, and due to some oddity in my gtx 260 I can't run my memory at max speed, so I get bizarre crash and freeze issues. I have to stay away from any games that are known for tech problems - if a problem exists, it will happen to me. I'm like the antithesis of the 'MY game doesn't crash!' crowd.

The same goes for the other end of the spectrum. The people who cry "DEVELOPER [X/Y/Z] SUCKS AND THE GAME SUCKS AND IT KEEPS CRASHING CAUSE ITS A BUGGY MESS" when, in fact, it is their machine/ineptness that cause the problems [or they are using a non-legit copy of a game with built in copy protection traps - that sort of stuff is what drove Titan Quest into an early grave. The developers built a crash trap for illegit copies in one of the first caves you visit - quite a few people blasted the company for a shoddy release citing crashes... when the crashes were due to an illegal copy]. It is annoying to see people respond to help requests with "well it works fine for me" and no other information, but just as annoying to see people refusing to believe that there is a possibility that their uber-leet computer skills aren't so uber.. or leet... or existent.
