The most important thing for SupCom is, imo, a dual core processor. So as long as you get one, you will be fine in that area.

DO NOT, however, settle for an 8400 series card. In fact, dont get anything less than an 8600GT, with an 8600GTS or 8800GTS being ideal. If you cant afford a decent Dx10 card, there is nothing wrong with going for a nice 7900GT or 7950GT card. Just about anything over a 7600 will perform better than an 8400. Imo, however, you should get a Dx10 card since you will be getting Vista.

Some things are just worth the extra money, and you would be better off not bothering with a new PC if you are unwilling to shell out the cash. Also, build for longevity. What good is a 600 dollar PC when you gotta spend another 600 in a year? Set your budget for 1000 dollars and you will get a PC that lasts 3+ years.

Also, get 2GB of memory, not just one. Most game require 1GB nowadays, and SupCom definately benefits from having 2GB.

*EDIT*

Here, hope the link works. This is what I recommend.

*EDIT2*

Damn, didnt work.

No problem. I didnt mean to come off as a rich bastard saying "the minimum you should spend is 1000 dollars" yada yada yada, either. Its just there are some things in this world that require a person to bite the bullet and just splurge, and imo a new PC is one of those things.

I hate to say this, but if 600 bucks is all you can afford, youre better off getting an xbox 360 and a couple of games.

Ya, if you have some money saved up you could even go half-and-half with whoever might get it for you. Like if their budget is 600 dollars, add on your 400 dollars and you'll be set!

$1000 is too much for that rig. You could get better PC for cheaper. Let a local store build it for you.
