It's decent, but how much is it?(EDIT: just read title, too expensive) I would personally get a beefier videocard, not that it's a bad one, it's just not super. Also that reminds me, your cpu doesn't support VT(hardware virtualizaiton) meaning, you can't run XP mode in Windows 7, or in any virutal machine, Virtual box, etc. However, you can run VM in software mode, which is a lot slower, but it works. So if you can get a q8400, please do.

I don't think it's worth $1200, maybe $900-1000 but not 1200.

Yes i have many times but i am unsure of where to get the parts and how to put it all together, and how much the end product would cost me.

The audio card is embedded in the motherboard just like 99% of times and is 7.1. A wireless N router shouldnt cost you more than 50-60. Also what you mean buy the disk to put an OS on it? If you already have an Os the dvd to burn it on that cost like 50cents or you mean you need the operating system( in that case for windows vista home premium should cost you around 100 or you can install windows 7 RC1 which is completely free from microsoft and they expire march 2010 so you have 9months to try them for free and then you can purchase them)

For $1200 you can get one hell of a build if you assemble yourself. And you don't need some overkill Core i7 or Core 2 Quad if you are only gaming; the E8400 beats all. ;) Here's what I would get (look them up on Newegg):

PSU: Corsair VX550

Case: Antec 900 or Antec 300 (whichever you like)

CPU: Intel E8400

CPU cooler (ONLY if you're overclocking): Xigmatek S1283

Motherboard: Gigabyte EP45-UD3R

RAM: Any G.Skill 4GB DDR 2 Kit

HDD: Western Digital Caviar 640GB (fastest 7200RPM hard drive on the market)

Optical: any one you want, really. They are worth like $20 each anyways

OS: use Windows 7 beta for now, and buy it when it's released (October 22nd)

GPU: get a cheap one, like the ATI HD4770 or the HD4830, and wait for the next generation from nVidia (GT300), which are just around the corner (recommended). Or, if you don't want to wait, get a GTX 295 or 2 HD4890's (both setups are super duper overkill).

I built an i7 comp with under $1000, and bought a monitor with $160. That computer is definitely not worth it.
