I realy want to get a new graphics card for crysis and UT3

These are my specs

I have 1 gig ram, AMD Athlon 64x2 Dual Core processor 3800, 2,01GHZ, and im curently using an x1300 ATI graphics card

My budget is around $300

plz help

curiously when do the 9 series start coming out???

9 series next year (jan-mar)

eVGA 8800GT SSC (it's right at your budget limit :) )

and crysis is gonna be hard on your system....UT3 won't be as bad...

Well the 3800 X2 and 1 gig of ram isn't what I call optimized for Crysis

well your gonna be getting medieum.....and thats not terrible (go look at gamespots Crysis comparisons).....

but yea....i wou;dn't worry about it too much... nobody is getting super amazing results on crysis yet.... best i've seen is 35fps on very high....

eh...it's the bare minimum....1gb.... cutting it close... ram is dirt cheap....might as well get a stick or 2....

Having an awesome graphics card with medicore ram and cpu won't even out.

A PC is basically as fast as it's slowest part

kinda an afterthought....

you could try overclocking.....if you got the PSU and you can add a few degrees to your case....

You shouldn't upgrade your GPU first.

This is my personal order of upgrades:

Mobo

CPU

Ram

GPU

However, the 8800GT is a definetly good buy.

Yeah, at 300X200 Resolution.

This is utter crap, with your rig and an 8800GT, you will get around 24 fps on DX9 with some settings on high, and shaders and shadows on medium.

you have a similer setup to me i play crysis really well on very high at 1680x1050 at stock vistabut u need 2gig and a good gpu like 8800gt
