I am going to invest in a pair of good quality gaming headphones and was wondering if anyone had an idea for brand or model of headphone?

Yah what is your budget.

I myself use cheaper headphones and I found the AKG K81 DJ to be one of the best headphones for under 100USD.

If you want them for console and PC, Turtle Beach is good because most are compataible with the 360/PS3 and the PC. And there pretty cheap. But not top of the line, but still good headsets.

No mention of the ATH-AD700 yet? They really shine with CMSS-3D Headphone, that's for sure. Just be aware that they let a lot of sound in and out, being open-back.

I was gonna go with the Shure srh440, but after some research I decided I am probably gonna go with a set of Sennhesier HD280 PRO instead. (I will be doing much more than gaming with them though, recording/mixing/mastering/and general music listening, in addition to gaming lol)

I could pick me up a pair from Amazon.com right now for around $85-90 (they are msrp of $159) Though I think I will wait closer to Winter Solstice Sales, I might be able to pick them up from somewhere for a little bit cheaper.
