iam reading on this PSU(might order) people always say they want more sata cables for there drives. it is used to power them but mine use the 4 pin molex cables and that long fat band wire from the drive to the Motherboard.  i dont even see something that would plug into my drive like the sata cables are, what kinds of drives use them?

sata hard drives has 2 cables, data cables and power cables. power cables connect to the drive from the psu, its not like the same standard molex power supply, a little bit thicker, the data cable is more like the size of a usb cable, and its very slim.

All of the new Hard Drives, it's much quicker, some newer DVD-RW drives also use them.

The drive you have is IDE. So the molex power plug from the PSU will go into this drive. SATA wires look like this...

^_^ The reason I got SATA DVD drives is because of the huge cables *shudders* not good for airflow...

SATA HD have a new power connector on them, however most if not all SATA drives I've seen also have a molex connector. I know my two drives do, but I still use the SATA power connector.

Hmm? If you're reffering to DVD drives, both of mine are SATA and they worked fine with the XP installation.

Probably so. But the IDE will exist in motherboards for a while, since 90% of optical drives are IDE.
