What are some free games from Steam that are worth checking out?

I mean games which have more prestige, are on almost the same level like a Call of Duty or Battlefield game.
I don't hang around too much on Steam,so I thought you could give me directions.

Microsoft Flight just came out for free on steam. Although you don't get very much content without buying a flight pack.
