Hello!

My favorite games that I have played so far are the adventure games.

Here are the ones I know so far:

Paradise

Syberia 1,2

The Longest Journey

Dreamfall - The Longest Journey

80 Days

Sherlock Holmes and the Secret of the Silver Earring (more likely a point and click game, but I have seen it being labeled as Adventure)

(Also there is one game for the PS2 that looks kinda epic, but I haven't played it.It's Shadow of the Colossus. It has also been released for the PS3.)

So,let me know if there are any other Adventure games worth checking out.

Pretty much any of the LucasArts adventures are worth a look. Grim Fandango and Full Throttle being my two favorites. Sanatarium is pretty creepy and fun. Actually, check out the GoG Adventure page for all kinds of old classics. I'm sure you'll find something that's up your alley.

Give http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/Games.aspxa visit, it's got hundreds of games made with the free Adventure Game Studio engine from one-room point and click puzzle games to huge action-adventure titles. They're all fairly small downloads and some of them are as good as any commercial adventure game.

Also if you're a fan of the Escapist it's where Yhatzee Croshaw made all of his games.

I am a life long adventure game fan. Started off my gaming with the old Sierra adventure games in the 80s and 90s. Loved the SCUMM lineup from Lucas in the 90s. Some of the more recent adventure games i have really enjoyed are: Gemini Rue, The next big thing, Yesterday and LA Noire.

Play Shadow of the Colossus. It's amazing. I haven't seen anything of the PS3 version, which I think is just an HD upgrade. If that's all it is, then yes, get it. Play it. It was one of the best games on the PS2, and one of the best looking. If the PS3 version is just an HD upgrade, that sounds incredible and makes me almost want a PS3.

Some recommend the Lucasarts classics; I also suggest you play them. Great games without exception.

If you are in for something completely different, try Botanicula. I know it looks strange, but once you've started playing this, you'll have an unique experience! A great adventure/puzzle game (a little easy though) with a great emotional atmosphere. This games shouts exploration on every screen - you never know what you gonna find, it's a world like you've never seen before.

Amnesia: The Dark Descent and Penumbra have prominent adventure elements but are mainly survival horror games. If you're into that then they are very good games you may have missed.

Did you see my post? "Gray Matter" is awesome. Jane Jensen is the writer for this game, and she also wrote for Gabriel Knight.

You can try some of the Telltale adventure games. Most of their games are pretty good and they can be purchased through Steam (if you so desire). They have also just released a Walking Dead adventure game that I've heard some good things about.

The Longest Journey, Dreamfall, Still Life 1 & 2 and Sinking Island are all adventure games I would recommend. Also Botanicula is just wonderful.
