max payne, the gta3 and after are kinda shooters, and freedom fighters. In other words, there aren't many because there's no reason to have it in third person if you can have it in first. I guess it makes it feel more cinematic or something, but i don't really think it makes a big difference.
The Max Payne series' and Freedom Fighters are both great. Obviously the GTA series as well, and Mercenaries 2 should be awesome (if the first is any indication - still one of my favourite Xbox games). Stranglehold looks like it'll be as good as the Max Payne games, if not, maybe even better.
Hmmmm, aren't a lot of you guys actually writing about first person shooters instead of third person shooters??? Anyway I'd say it depends on your priorities...
Go for a short but fun game: Max Payne
A game with a lot of depth but not JUST a shooter: Mafia
A game for geeks with an ok gameplay: Star Trek Deep Space Nine - The Fallen
IMHO the best, if u like war scenarios could be Sniper Elite. Nice graphics cinematics - name it. Max Payne is real good both of em, but I love Sniper Elite...:D
