I'm planning on building my first pc, it doesn't seem overly difficult, but I have one major question. When you buy a pc from a manufacturer they take care of this, but what cables do I need to purchase in addition to the major pc components? IDE cables or something like that? I don't want to get all my parts and then have no way of hooking them up. If you could please tell me what and how many of each I need, I would be grateful.
Your motherboard should come with most of the cables you need. Unless you want rounded cables or UV cables, there's really no need for buying them seperately.
If you're going to shop on Newegg, one of the pictures is of the entire package, this includes cables. Look up the motherboard you're going to purchase, look at that picture and see if it has everything you need.
If it doesn't, Newegg or your local RadioShack should have them.
