1) Doom II (First game I ever played at the tender age of 5 and haven't looked back)

2) Heretic (The second game I got and is the perfect fantasy fps, nothing tops it imo aside from Doom)

3) Quake (When I first played this game I was scared **** and learned what multiplayer was really about)

4) Half life (first "modern" fps I played and really got me into them again)

5) Team Fortress 2 (This game is the epitome of awesome mp action so it makes the list)

I agree that it was better, but I seem to be one of the few who thinks Academy was still almost as good. It lacked as good a story as JK2, and the progression of the game was better (I preferred both the linear level arrangement and scripted force power allotment over Academy's in-any-order-you-want levels and choose-what-force-powers-you-want system). But Academy had the same fun jedi combat with added force powers and lightsabers and moves and enemies, and the levels were all varied and fun. Overall, it was just a smidge below Outcast for me.

Well, now I know where your username originated. I was guessing before, and I was right.

1. Far Cry 1- was bloody hard, but amazing graphics and it shouldve been the first in the wave of new freeform shooters, but then everyone went back to linear ones after HL2 and Doom 3.

2. HL2 - It was just an amazing experience

3. Uneal Tournament 2004 - best multiplayer ever

4. Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast - it was amazing online and had a really cinematic and amazing single player campaign.

5. Crysis - Heopfully all FPS's from now on follow Crysis's amazing freeform template.
