In about a week, I want to build my first ever gaming PC. I would like to go with AMD A10 (tell me if that is a bad idea). If I would be willing to spend around $600, possibly $100 more then can you tell me what components you would chose (excluding monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers) for the build?

First of all, what are your goals with this machine? Do you want a machine that will last you a long time, do you want to eventually SLI/Crossfire your GPU and are you doing other computing intensive things outside of gaming? That will help determine what parts you need. I also recommend using pcpartpicker.com to choose your components and verify compatibility.

I plan on having it the gaming PC for about 2-3 years. I would like to do SLI/Crossfire...just don't know if that is out of budget? I don't really have anything else besides gaming intended for the PC. And thanks for the website.

Considering your budget, you'd probably wanna avoid SLI/Crossfire because it will force you to buy a more expensive power supply and motherboard from the get go. What I would suggest you to look at this site too: logicalincrements.com That should give you a pretty good idea of what parts you wanna buy. But I would say to try to get a GTX 760, it's the best value in terms mid range cards. But it does cost 260$

yeah definitely use part picker and see what you come up with and il help with the rest if you have Question on GPU & MIR & how to OC if You get a CPU cooler

as for Hard Drive check Various Sales place sometime a 1TB is 59.99$ while a 500GB is 49.99$ it worth the Extra 10$ to have the Capacity to Load All ur Game & Video data it a nice thing

But you should think of a Cheap Cpu Cooler Like Hyper 212+ Evo to achieve an overclock basically FX6300 shud oc around 4.5ghz minimum if you game like Skyrim / Starcraft 2 / Planetside 2 you will notice the Nice Boost On Fluid Frame Rate when doing so

also will you be gaming at 1080P ? like majority of Steam H/W pool rate ? Any Specific Game you want to near max ? might check for GTX 760 on sales if you have spare money

This is the best you can do in your budget.

You could get a CPU cooler and a 1TB HDD but since you want it for gaming I spent the extra cash on a better GPU.

hmm I forgot to ask but are you american or british ? or another nationality ? so we make sure ur build is done right

if ur american well n some state of usa you have a place called micro center albeit it very rare to find it can save you easily a 50-80$ from going there it did for someone i knew that live in Brooklyn they have mad AMD & Mobo combo that like 165$ for premium quality motherboard + Fx6300 versus 220$ newegg.com

as for Hard Drive you should spend the extra 4$ for the 1TB Seagate it worth it to get more stuff http://pcpartpicker.com/part/seagate-internal-hard-drive-st1000dm003 it would worth it if you intned to use the HDD for more then 3 Year and want to fill it up with stuff like I did wish thing didn't take as much place currently have over 1.8TB of Video game by next year with origin & steam & non Steam game

just with Steam Workshop or Nexus mod manager enabled game i manage to fill them with 500MB To 20GB various game with Mod Content And Lately Newest game Keep taking more place and more place Like Planetside 2 & The Witcher 2 my Steam Folder is Around 1.2TB  my nephew about 300GB good thing i bough him a 1TB at 54.99$ during 2011 that Deal was gold only like 8$ more over a 500GB at 46.99$

This is what I am looking for. If I wanted to spend maybe an extra $50-$100 would you recommend a better processor? And for who was asking I love in Texas near dallas if anyone knows of a cheap place to purchase.
