It should be on your steam profile.
mine was October 7th 2005, Would have been sooner but I didnt realise that you needed an internet connection to run half life 2, that was a christmas letdown :(

Well with this account it has been January 5th 2008, but I have been with steam for an extremely long time.
EDIT: When I say a long time I mean that when I came back I am almost soiled myself when I saw what steam had become. I didn't remember it selling games or being good.
I opened my account January 3, 2008. Pretty similar story to the TC's. I got the Orange Box as a Christmas gift, but my folks didn't have interwebs at the time, and I couldn't play it without creating an account first.
So first impression: Steam... I am disappoint. :(
Since then, though, with all the sales and TF2 and whatnot, it's not that bad. :D

A VERY VERY LONG TIME INDEED.

Indeed...you beat me by about 3 months :D I got Steam when Valve made it mandatory to play Counter-Strike.
November 14th, 2008... Though I don't remember the first game I ever purchased on Steam...? The first game I remember is Fallout 3 in Summer of 2009 because it was on like a 75% off sale, but I am guessing I bought something before then to warrant making an account 8 months prior...
October 11, 2006.
I had a Steam account before then, but then I gave it away to a friend... after a number of frustrations with Half-Life 2. When I bought Red Orchestra, it forced me to install it. I have been using it ever since.
I like Steam, but it has its fair share of problems as well. Beware of phishing!
I think. I first enrolled into steam to register my original, "Half-life" so I could get all of it's expansions for free. Back in, October 15, 2003. But then I completely forgot about it. I don't think I ever installed the Steam interface to play those expansions.
Then when half-life 2 came out I made an account in, October 18, 2005. This certain retail version of Half-Life 2 came with Counterstrike Source. So, I did end up using that account quite a bit.
Then in April 25, 2009, I bought the Orange Box for 10 bucks on a certain Steam Sale (which was the start of a neverending, trend, it seems). I, eventually, noticed that Counterstirke was missing from my game's list and I had some sort of Half life Platinum pack in there that I didn't remember buying. I contacted Steam Support to ask what happened to Counterstrike source and they discovered my lost account via my email address. (the user names weren't far off from each other, either). I finally put two and two together, and realized that I had registered the retail version of Halflife 1, to get the expansions for free...
I had asked them if they could combine the two accounts, and they said, no. So, now I have one account that has my retail version of HL2 made in October 18 2005 with Counterstike Source that I hardly ever use. And then I have my, October 15, 2003 account that I activily use for all these Steam Sales.
