Your thoughts? Not the developer that pumped out quantity but quality.

Put it this way... if you had an idea for your dream game who would you hire to develop it.

I wouldn't say their king, but I would want them to build my game. CD Projekt Red! PC exclusive developer will always get my vote.

If you're looking for resources and talent than Blizzard is hard to beat. What other developer has created the gold-standard for THREE separete genres (MMO, RTS, ARPG)?

That was my train of thought. If wanted someone to make my game, it would be the company that's literally rolling around in money.

Volition Inc., Avalanche Studios, and Id.Zubinen

I do agree with Volition, they've had two very fun games this year (it's too bad about what happened to the Red Faction series, always been a fan of that). I would also say Bioware (but then again I'm a bioware fanboy :P ) but DA2 did hurt them quite a bit (although the SWTOR beta seemed very promising imo), but they have to get Mass Effect 3 right or they'll lose a lot of fans, more so that when DA2 was released

Well its not even they have a ton of money. Its the fact that blizzard doesn't release a game that they feel is not ready. Its been shown time and time again in all their games they delay like every single one of their games at least once from what I have seen (Diablo 3, starcraft 2 beta was pushed back like 2-3 times, then release, starcraft 1, idk bout WoW or the older older games). Its what I like and hate about blizzard. I love that they take their time (and its grueling having to wait because you know their game is going to be good) but they take a long time on games. But from every blizzard game I have played from the day it was released (not counting WoW as I never played WoW really ever) have been super polished, addictive and really fun. Blizzard/Valve get my votes for sure.

Except they are no longer PC exclusive. The Witcher 2 is slated for release on the Xbox 360 in 2012. I still like them a lot though and I know they need to make money...

Blizzard is the developer king.

Blizzard, then Activision probably (they're Activision-Blizzard anyway as a company) and finally Valve.
