I noticed like two other threads hatin on the UT3 demo and I haven't gotten a chance to play it for myself so I was wondering what you guys thought. Does it stay true to the UT series but just add cool stuff and better graphics? I for one, am definitely looking forward to the hoverboard :P

The hoverboard is awesome, especially when ya figure out how to pull tricks on it :)

Cant wait for the full BETA and the finalised demo

I actually thought it was really enjoyable, though don't expect a lot of originality. The demo plays just like UT2004, includes one additional vehicle (the Hellfire, which was not that great, IMO) and a hoverboard to get players outside vehicles across the map in reasonable time.

I'm not sure what everyone else was expecting, seeing as how UT and UT 2003/2004 were not that different either, except a couple play modes and some vehicles.

If you're looking for a fast-paced FPS with incredible graphics, it's definitely worth playing.

Awesome, probably going to be the best of the series.

I still don't like deathmatch much. I play 30 mins in a row at max.

I haven't played the series since UT2003, so I thought it was enjoyable enough to justify a purchase. Ran pretty well on my aging PC, as well. I'm looking forward to seeing how the singleplayer campaign pans out since I got more use out of offline play in UT99/UT2003 than I ever did online.

Haha well see that's the thing, all the ppl that are b****ing about it being "exactly like UT2K4" that sux for them but for me, I've never owned any UT games before and I heard that UT2K4 was awesome so for me UT3 should be very very good and also a new experience at the same time. I can't wait :D

i'm not fond of UT and don't have too much experience with previous UT games, but my thoughts so far:

the best looking fps i have ever played in my life (and i gather we only got medium textures in the demo?)

well designed maps with interesting visual styles

fast paced and fun combat

a decent assortment of weapons that are each unique

splash damage is well balanced

as much as i enjoy the demo, the competitive online fps genre really isn't my thing, and UT definitely really isn't my thing... and since the demo has 3 maps and 4 play modes, i really feel that's enough for me until the game is very cheap, when i may consider buying it

great demo, though
