Im getting a Xbox 360 controller from my cousin and it doesnt have a cable or wierless thing to connect to pc I have 2 questions:

1. Do all the Xbox 360 contollers work on pc? I mean does the time that they were made matter?

2. What cable do I need to connect it to pc? Do they sell it alone? where?

Thank you

I searched it and all the wireless receivers that are sold are not from microsoft and dont work fine and dont have good support. Microsoft discontinued selling it alone and its included with Xbox 360 wireless controller. So any idea what should I do here? Becauase I already have the controller and cant pay for another one.

theres nothing else to do if you can get the wireless dongle. You should have just went with a wried one in the first place. They aren't that expensive but if you cant get one thats that really.

I ordered this one and have been using it for a month now, came with dongle and drivers. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000HZFCT2/ref=oh_details_o05_s00_i01 No complaints, worked flawlessly on Windows 7.

I bought a wired 360 controller because it required the least effort to work. Plus, the cable's 9-feet length is plenty for me.

This. They really aren't that expensive and they don't need the wireless adapter

I bought one of the wireless adapters, in the UK the only way to get an official one now is off eBay
