I might like it more than Morrowind, and Morrowind is one of my favorite games ever. Oblivion was kind of a disappointment (though I still played the crap out of it), but Skyrim just feels different. I don't know how to explain it.
I'm definitely enjoying the game, it's so much better than Morrowind and Oblivion. I've been stuck on it almost every night since its release and all I've really been doing is side missions searching for dragons and the shouts and just messing around. Steam is saying I've logged in 70 hours already! :o
It also has some pretty decent storylines tucked in all the side missions and what I've seen of the main quest, some of the books scattered throughout the land are good reads for backstories. I'm well pleased. Honestly I can't wait to see what badass mods come up after about 2 years of the game being out.
I feel exactly the same :P. I could easily pop Morrowind in again but this game is just great. I don't even want to play BF3 any more lol.I might like it more than Morrowind, and Morrowind is one of my favorite games ever. It's great but I have some design issues with the game such as how the Thieves Guild
is sitting around in a friggin' sewer
or how the Dark Brotherhood
seem like a bunch of jokers.
Skyrim far exceeded my expectations, although they were low to begin with Oblivion being not up to snuff for me. It easily equals Morrowind, and I'm sure it will surpass as I go more in depth with the game. Needless to asy, I can't stop playing! I have to set my alarm clock so I can get to work on time lol.
I'm actually surprised at how much I am enjoying the game after my less than stellar experiences with Oblivion and Fallout 3. While the game is certainly lite in its RPG mechanics I'm not minding or missing what's not there, much. I never thought Bethesda utilized stats in a meaningful way to begin with so not having them in Skyrim isn't that big of a deal for me, personally.
I'm normally against "stream-lining" but in this case I think it really helped Bethesda play more to their strengths and minimized some of the things that they maybe don't do so well, like stats.
I certainly wouldn't want ever new "RPG" to play this way but, for what it is and what it's trying to be, I think Skyrim is pretty successful.
It's a good game, certainly better than Oblivion or Fallout 3...but I'm kind of over it at this point.
Now that my thief skills are all pretty high, any sense of immersion is totally gone - high sneak/pickpocketing skills and the ability to bribe guards make it all-too-clear how terrible the AI and scripting is, and the only time I feel challenged is when the difficulty curve spikes unpredictably. Everything is just far too exploitable in this game.
Also everything is getting increasingly unstable, and I'm finding myself enjoying how broken the game is more than enjoying playing the game itself. That's not to say that it's a bad game...it's pretty good (certainly not outstanding, but pretty good), but the more I see of it, the less impressed I am.
I'll probably give the game a rest for a while once I finish the main quest, and possibly play Daggerfall or Morrowind again.
I wish Bethesda took their time. Skyrim has all the signs of a rushed game. While they're at it - why not add more skills? What exactly makes the game more efficient by detracting skills? More skills = more perks = more variation in gameplay = funner game. KHAndAnime
they made a 100 h game full of different awesome quest, cities and you say this is rushed?? sorry but i dont see all this "signs"
Loving the game so far. Much better than oblivion but I think at least for now, I still rate Morrowind above it.
I'm looking forward to some texture packs, maybe some UI mods and maybe an official patch or two to fix the bugs. I'm level 33 and I still haven't even gone to see the greybeards yet lol.
They do need to do some balancing of skills and such to make it less easier. Heavy armour mage = unstoppable even on master setting. Least the previous games had penalties when using certain combinations such as heavy armour and magic.
Also I have yet in the entire game so far been able to do a finishing move (apart from when I'm a werewolf). Doesnt matter what I'm fighting or if it is a critical or not, I just can't seem to do one. Btw is there a way to cure the lycanthropy you get from the companions, it's fun but I prefer being well rested.
Better then oblivion worse then morrowind. Atleast they are sure that they want a action / adventure game now and not a rpg ;) :>KalDurenik
just because they didn't add a bunch of stats doesn't mean is not an rpg lol, its almost the same as oblivion.
I absolutely love this game. One of the best I have ever played. 31 hours in and I only have like 6 main quests done

Take one look at the interface and compare it to what Bethesda claimed was going to be in the game. Lots of bugs with the AI and quests as well. This is really the type of game that would benefit from as much development time as possible. And it's obvious they didn't push the game's concept to its maximum potential.the game needs WAY more enemies. i hate going through a dungeon and fighting the same crap over and over again. it really makes the experience very stale for me. however, i think gameplay wise its amazing and while smithing and enchanting are broken, you can always choose to not use them.

I'm just one of the few who isn't riding the hype train. I'm sure this game is really impressive for some people but really it's no accomplishment compared to what has already been done in the past. Ultimately the game is reminiscent of Oblivion, while being a big upgrade in many departments. I'm already explored most of the game's map and it simply isn't as large-scaled as people make it out to be. Of course it's still more than decently sized. Bethesda did an awesome job on creating the game's detailed landscape, towns, plentiful quests, etc. but I'm still feeling like the game is a little shallow on the gameplay side of things.they made a 100 h game full of different awesome quest, cities and you say this is rushed?? sorry but i dont see all this "signs"

True. I agree with this. Most games have some action to it. Skyrim is full of RPG goodness. Same could be said about Mass Effect series, whether people want to admit it or not. I don't think people, or gamers, have a full grasp on the meaning of RPG or role-playing.Coming from someone who did not like Oblivion, Mass Effect or The Witcher.. this game is absolutely fantastic ^^
Skyrim is huge, engrosing and the majority of quests are engaging and fun. My only negatives would be the UI and the lack of depth in regards to combat (at least for Mages).
50ish hours so far. Best RPG I've ever played. (I'm capable of knocking off the nostalgia glasses). Bethesda knocked it out of the park on this one. Yeah, there are UI issues and some bugs, but overall, this game is incredible.

pretty much this, when i saw the ui i was damn, another bad consle port, but ive been playing almost 30h so far and is incredible.
Would've been better with less consolization (i.e: menus), better voice acting and dx10/11 graphics.murekkepVoice acting is fantastic, IMO.
It is a cool game. However I thing it has too much grinding, the skill system reminds me of WoW and UO (I understand that this goes far into the series, before these). Also comparing with New Vegas for example, it seens that random places don't have much context in them unless you are in a quest, you don't find the occasional notes and documents that were abundant in NV.
