Everex

$700 and its got a 8600m and a 17inch widescreen.

Only down side I see is it has a 1 year warranty and it's probably made dirt cheap and impossible to find replacement batteries (they'll probably set my house on fire anyway).

I also don't know anything about this company.

I'm going to use it for school and some portable Company of Heroes. Do you think it would be fine for that?

The other i was looking at was this Asus, but it's really really pushing the budget. Then again if it lasts longer i guess it's worth it. I think its got a 2 year warranty.

The cheap one looks good to me for modest gaming! 1.7ghz duel core, 1GB RAM, 8600......yeah thats pretty good :)

Ok, thanks.

I'm still wondering about the quility though.

I'm willing to pay more and lose the 17inch monitor if it's not going to fall apart and i get a 2 year warranty.

Also, is the 2600m better than the 8600m?

You already said that its made from poor quality. Honestly, if you are anormal user then you wont have any trouble and you still have 1 year warranty which is the estimated time for poor parts to fail.

For the gpu, i think that i saw acomparsion somewhere in another site. Try to google it and you will probably find it

Thanks that helped.

I said probably poor quality. Plus, they might have poor customer servies and also replacing cheap parts that break with cheap parts that break isn't exactly great.

It's not exactly the software side i'm worried about, it's the hardware side. It won't be like a desktop where i can just run out and get a replacement and fix it myself.

Or this one. ZT

It comes with the GT 512mb version of the 8600 (the everex has a GS 256mb) and 3gb of RAM so i won't have to buy more memory when i buy the laptop.

Out of the 3 i listed which would you pick?

I have a better monitor i can hook it up to at home btw.
