I loved the demo of World of Goo precisely because it reminded me of older PC games like Lemmings etc (and because it's one of the few demos which ran on my netbook).
I'm not a big fan of digital download and thought I'd never get round to buying the game in spite of its low price. I was really pleased, then, to find the game in my local music shopfor next to nothing. Even better was the fact that the game didn't offer a milliion obstacles to making an image and transferring it to my netbook.
Some big budget games have turned out to be utter crap. For the price, WOG was a great game. I wouldn't put it in the same category with the cream of the big studio games, but with such a small production team, what can you expect?
It did remind me of the "good old days" in that it was kind of innovative without requiring a monster machine to run perfectly.

1. Yes
2. Yes
3. Braid and WoG, no. Braid requires too much precision for my taste, but I like the music and the puzzle design is intelligent. WoG tries too much to emulate Tim Burton and ends up feeling like a cheap knock-off, and it's lacking that "certain something". Plants vs Zombies is amazing though, it's perfectly designed and the amount of content is ridiculous.
4. Only Plants vs Zombies. It's the best casual game ever.
