I personally like it because my animal brain is attracted to the pretty lights. I've got a bright blue glowing computer, keyboard and mouse. I can see why some people would think it's silly though, what are your opinions?

I like the lights, and I like my lit-up keyboard. Though there's really not much point to it other than if it looks cool to you.
Only problem with my setup is my case is Black with Blue LEDs and my Mouse + Keyboard are both Black with Red, not even remotely a big deal or an issue though. :P
I don't even like side windows.neatfeatguy
I used to agree with you, until the Corsair 800D came along. :P
I never liked it, but I ended up with a small LED circle around the power button. I had no idea the case I chose had LED since it was off in all the pictures that I saw online. It's not too bad, though.

The worst is when the LED power light is strong enough to light an entire room.

LOL i love your sig. The power LED (the little red light) on my HAF 932 case is blinding.. I always have my case facing away from it. As for other illuminated components in my pc - just one green led fan attached to my CPU cooler. That's about it. I use to have more in my old build but I found it to be distracting and quite annoying. The only thing I want lit up is my keyboard because I like to game in the dark.Love LED's in a case with a side window....I guess it's all a matter of taste. Some people like a very clean subdued look with no lights, windows..etc....which usuallymeans a quieter system with cases that are designed to reduce the noise levels...Others, such as myself prefer lighting and a window to view the components and though I don't like a loud system, my setup is fairly quiet for the amount of fans it has running...except for the GPU. Anything over 40% fan speed and it sound like a jet taking off.
But I am a LED person...My PC is in my den, not in a bedroomand I shut it down when not inuse, so it'snot an issue of not being able to not sleep. I know some people have no choice if still living at homeand the bedroom is their only option. I can see where bright LED's would cause a problem.
For me it's just additional mood lighting that I really enjoy along with my Lava Lamp, shell lamp,LED KB, Mouse & MPad and torch lamp among other custom lighting in the room. The wifethinks I'm a bit loony, but leaves that part of the house alone to me...calls it my Hippy Cave.

^^ Agreed, ahh the blue glow. I was thinking about going with that case when I was doing my new build, but ended up going with the Phantom. I probably wouldn't like the glow if it were in a bedroom, but it is in my gaming room so it doesn't bother anybody. I think my cats like it too, although then they get a ton of cat hair in the filters.

@jcbullen...Very nice look you have there...I almost went with that NZXT Phantom, it's a excellent case and looks terrific in white with the blue LED's, but the Lancool was on sale at such a great price I couldn't refuse... It's a great case for cooling and to work in also....Nice job on your set-up.

I like that yours has a pretty large window, the one on the Phantom is just kind of a corner cutout.@jcbullen...Very nice look you have there...I almost went with that NZXT Phantom, it's a excellent case and looks terrific in white with the blue LED's, but the Lancool was on sale at such a great price I couldn't refuse... Also, I'm trying to get LED fans in place of the two 120mm side panel fans. The email exchange between NZXT and I is pretty funny, I've got it in another post

I think I read some where that only NZXT fans will fit on your case and standard stock non-NZXT won't, not sure if that true or not. But I had an Apollo case I used for several years which was great, replaced the stock fans with several Antec 120mm Led's that fit fine. Used NZXT customer service several times and they were very good with me.

Yeah that's what I read too, so when I asked them about it, they just insisted on sending me fans for free or something. This makes me a fan of their customer service as well.I think I read some where that only NZXT fans will fit on your case and standard stock non-NZXT won't, not sure if that true or not. Here's my take on this: LED's generally look like crap, but a good Cathode setup can look wicked. My buddy got a nice dual orange/UV cathode setup in his PC-7FNW and took out the goofy blue LED fans. The setup has a nice glow inside that allows for easy highlighting of components, but it's not overbearing like LED lighting almost always is. Easy enough to turn on and off if he wants, but still allows for a more aggressive look should he so desire, and won't blind you from the wrong angle.RayvinAzn
I don't suppose you can get any pics?
That can get annoying, but I've got a couple of easily accessible buttons that will shut them all off so that's nice.To be honest I don't really like have a crap load of lights in my system, because when I'm playing at night with the lights off I don't really want a big glowing machine right beside me.

If the lights you're looking at use those standard 4-pin MOLEX connectors, you could probably switch them on and off and perhaps even control their brightness with a cheap rear-panel or front-panel fan controller.
