What ever happended to HL1 redone?

I heard a lot of people saying someone was redoing HL1 but with the graphics of HL2. I heard this over a year ago and a lot of people were talking about it. So what happened? Where is it? I would REALLY like to play that as I like HL1 a lot more than HL2. I would love to see all the HL1 sequels redone, especially Opposing Force.

There's no actualgame like that, but Black Mesa Source (aka HL with HL2 graphics)is a mod. It's not out quite yet though.

Ya, theyre too busy holding contests to win Alienware computers, in addition to making freaking bumper stickers. oh ya, and they problably put about 40 hours intoa model (the yellow crate loader) that appears in-game for about 20 seconds as you ride the tram. Oh ya, and theyre making their own music as well which, while cool, is again a waste of time.

Listen, they are doing a good thing, but this mod should have been done loooooooong ago. I mean, they had everything planned out for them, all they need was to transfer it over to the source engine. That should take like 2 years.

Instead, their mod has reached celebrity status, now they think theyre rockstars.

Ya, I was a bit harsh. But what can I say, I have been following this mod since it was announced, and I have seen how their popularity has deterred them. Bumper stickers? Contests? comeon, am I the only one thinking "WTF mate?"

Oh, and if I werent busy doing real-life things (like trying to graduate from college, working) and ifI were interested in making mods, then I might have contributed. But since a "where is your version" question is bogus to begin with, whatever man. Thats like asking a 12 year old who is complaining about the Iraq War "well, why dont YOU go do something about it?"

I cant be the only Halflife fan upset with this mod team.

I've also heard about a remake of HL1 with HL2 graphics back when HL2 was released and but I haven't heard anything about it in a couple of years.ikwal

LOL yeah I agree with you. Seems like I heard about this mod A LONG A$$ TIME AGO. Thats why I started this thread. I cant believe its not done yet. And why would anyone want a bumper sticker about a half-life mod?

I have to agree.. by the time its finished.. why even bother? I'm not even that interested in it anymore.. sure it will be cool to play through once completed.. but I'm not going to be holding my breath..

However.. I will be waiting eagerly for HL2: Episode 3.. does he actually die? hmmm nice cliff hanger there..

Also being able to see the laboratories of Portal.. if you caught the technology firm name of Portal .. the ship you will be sent to is made by that same Portal team.. so the possibility of the portal gun in the HL2 world is pretty cool..

First off that is a dick move to put that big a spoiler in a public post FYI. Secondly I really hope they don't add the portal gun to Ep 3. That would be very lame IMO. Since Portal is part of the HL universe its possible, but it seems to me that the portal device would have been developed AFTER the Borealis disappeared since it was the first teleportation experiment, so here is hoping no portal gun in Ep3.
