What game scared you the most?

Hi there, well what do you think is the most scariest game for PC? Me and my buddy tried Condemned. Since he actually doesn`t like to play scary games I had to convince him, but finally he couldn`t stop playing even if Condemned scared him nearly to death :)

Not sure what game it was but only time ever felt something like that in a game.

Had to climb this ladder and was this huge tenticled monster that reacted to the slighest noise and made you really nervous and had to go up only in little shots and stopped when monster would get aggited.

Might of Been Half life.

 I think you are right that must have been Half-Life. By the way is Area51 scary I am not sure if it`s worth a buy?

Gonna have to say FEAR.  Just something about that little girl...man is she creepy.

But for like jumpy scary if you know what I mean, I would say Doom 3.

Doom III scared the shiet outta me. Was the first horror game I ever played... Well except Resident Evil One, played that when I was about 5-6... Needless to say, I had some trouble sleeping.

Thief: Deadly Shadows had its moment, and The Cradle got some damn fine atmosphere. While picking a lock and suddenly you hear something.. you turn around just to face a total.. messed up.. person? thing? Just O.o

Well, there is a similar scene in Call of Cthulhu - Dark Corners of Earth, although that game is rather frustrating than scary.

And I think Condemned is definitely one of the top class scary games, if not the scariest. F.E.A.R is occasionally scary but it just can't be the scariest game. Doom 3 is much scarier than F.E.A.R IMO.

Agree. I haven't finished F.E.A.R, only played the first few levels ( actually hated the game, it's just not for me). After seeing Alma for the first time... the scaryness just kind of dropped. Blood and gore is np for me, and running in a dark corridor... seeing what you have seen fifty times already... not terrifying. 

Dude I dont care about F.E.A.R and Doom stuff I'm tollerant towards scary stuff now, moreso than most people.

But when I was a small kid this Arthur adventure game scared the &#@! out of me (Dont ask)

Aliens Vs Predator (2).

DOOM 3 scared me when I was playing it in the dark, light's off and everything with my dog laying on my bed behind me. I happened to be really immersed in the game, and the dog jumps off the bed onto the floor behind me.

Me too! Thats why I don't play games like that during the night. 

The Sims - it really scared the f*** out of me imaging how hard the life of people must  get to play a "life"

I'm waiting for Condemned 2, it will have a lot more replayability and value than the first.

RE4 it would b FEAR but fear couldn't keep me scared the whole game like RE4 chainsaw woman *cry*

THIEF DEADLY SHADOWS. That game was permeated with a sense of dark, nihilistic dread. The fact that it was a city, with merchants, cops and ordinary folk wandering about doing their things made it that much scarier when zombies or other supernatural jerks wandered into the picture. Some of the missions were soaked in melancholy and death--remember raiding the captian's home days after his demise at sea? His widow and servants are mulling about; the weather's bad outside; you sneak into his bedchamber... and all the while, the horrible whispers and gossip about a murderous ghost-lady kept you looking over your shoulder.

That rising tension got me so wound up that by the time I reached the haunted orphanage sequence, I was a mess.
