What games to get ??

I just got a new laptop, its a HP Pavilion Dm3 1020ea, which is quite powerful, but im looking to get into PC gaming lightly as i have an xbox. So, yeah, could you tell me some games to get, thanks :D

I have a similar model laptop (Dm3 1130us) that I use and have tested quite a few games out.

Games I find that were playable are but not at all limited to...

l4d (haven't tested 2 but I bet it would work as well)

Source works great, borderlands surprisingly with the right settings also ran pretty good. Torchlight it well... torchlight. I can let you know as I try other games out on it.

Try Warcraft 3, the original Dawn of War games and you could probably get Starcraft 2 when it comes out.

Those two and Portal are all on the Orange Box, just so you don't go out and buy them seperately.

I would say get one game at a time so you don't overwhelm yourself. First decide what type of game you want then find the cheapest price. Some times you can get cd keys which are even less and d/l the game from the company.
