This. AC3 is not that demanding, either.

This. AC3 is not that demanding, either.

It's not demanding, it's just poorly optimised. All the NPCs and shadows are tied to CPU so if your CPU is weak it will drag everything else down. I had an AMD phenom 955 before with my 670 and I was getting 24 fps at times maxed out at 1080p. Swapped it out for an Intel i5 3570k and I was getting straight 60 fps all the time.

You should be fine TC for max settings at that resolution I'm getting 45-50fps all max on a phenom 2 x4 and a 6850 on AC2 though i only play at 1440x900 (dont know about AC3 though )

AC3 is a bit tougher because of the cloth physics on everyone's clothes and wind/particles

high except when you get to boston. I'd imagine ac3 would run faster if they included an impoverished artist with every copy, they would hand draw every frame.

Very odd. I have an old rig (Athlon II x4 630 and GTS 250 512mb) and can run most settings on high @ 1080p with 30+ fps most times. However, Boston was pretty bad.

Yup. It's also running on a new engine. The game is a noticeable improvement visually. I hate how they touched up the character models though. Desmond looks f'in weird compared to previous AC games. So do the other characters. This game requires a good CPU and GPU to max out and run 60fps consistently. There's so much going on, i.e. NPC's.
