[QUOTE="DanielDust"][QUOTE="GazaAli"] it was pretty pointless. A game where you dont die? WTF is that? also the combat was laughable, not to mention the plot and settings that have nothing to do with the series.GazaAli
How can a new series not have anything to do with its series? Maybe you're forgetting this but Sands of Time wasn't the first Prince of Persia, so there isn't just a story in the PoP series, it never was, it's made out of trilogies, well the last one was supposed to be a trilogy too but they god back to the Sands of Time saga. ok but you cant make a "call of duty, early warfare" where ogres fight each others with sticks. POP4 has nothing to do with "Persia". PoP WW didn't really have anything to do with PoP either yet it was enjoyable, filled with iSAD, iCRY and iEMO but it was playable I guess.Only one thing killed the enjoyment in PoP (4) and that is not the combat or the story, story is not relevant since it is a new game and you are a prince of Persia so it fits as much as it would in any PoP game because it's not PiP (Prince in Persia) and the combat is directly tied to the game breaking problem, it was open world. PoP doesn't work in an open world simply because it revolves around action, acrobatics and more action, it needs to be linear and limited, no it should have some huge levels but they need to be limited to a certain path with lots of detail and more obstacles.
PoP is a superb game, but looong idle sections make it boring and the action sequences are too short compared to the "waiting" periods and because of it being open world and you could die lots of times they implemented Elika and because of her they though they eliminated the frustration from those looong dangerous "idle" periods, thus they only implemented boredom not extreme frustration too. I don't like their changes but the "save" ability was needed. It's only natural they'd turn back to Sands of Time since that series was a solid PoP like game, an extremely linear game with action.
They took a gamble with PoP and open world and they lost big, I wanted more of that series but I doubt they'll continue it after the next PoP.
