As of now, eSATA is the fastest. eSATA and Firewire3200 are roughly the same speed (~3.0 Gigabit/s), while USB is far behind those two (until USB 3.0 rolls around.)

I assume you're using this for an external HDD or something? If so, go with eSATA and don't look back. Even when USB3.0 rolls around, eSATA will still be more than fast enough for the transfer speeds of an external HDD. The bottleneck will be the capabilities (read/write speed) of your drive, not the interface you use..

Yeah : USB 3.0 Will be Faster Then e-Sata by lot tough in future it possible there may release a new e-sata With faster Bandwidth Tough SATA III to release About 2010 near USB3 Release Date I heard which SATA III would be Faster then USB 3.0 But USb 3.0 is still transfer 25GB in 70 Second

tough it rumour that SATA III you can transfer 6GB/S = If you get i don't know : 24SSD Hard Drive all modern and SATA III 6 Gbs per second transfer speed instead of 2GB like in the test on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=96dWOEa4Djs :D but who would get that lol

I don't know much about SATA III just heard it would Exist and Being a real update over SATA II How ever it Seem there are no HDD With SATA III announced else then SSD With SATA III : you heard bout it too Right Daytona_178 ?

eSATA is by far the best way to go, followed by Firewire, with USB at dead last. eSATA is basically an external port for SATA, and thus native speeds are possible to be seen from a connected hard drive. And while USB 2.0 may be spec'd for a higher speed than firewire 400, USB is only rated for peak BURST speeds, where firewire is rated for peak SUSTAINED speeds; there's quite a difference. And Firewire 800 (a.k.a. 1394b) is even faster still, and can be made backward compatible with 1394a; IIRC, one firewire 800 port can be made into TWO firewire 400 ports with a simple adapter. My current gripe is that trying to get an external hard drive or enclosure with these ports gains a stupidly high premium on the price, that IMO is unwarranted when they want to just under-cut the price on those USB-only drives. Part of me thinks it's because they know that USB speeds for external hard drives is such **** compared to firewire and eSATA.

esata is best. if firewire was better it would used for internal hdds, but esata is faster. usb is much slower, but most of the problem lies with your external device. a usb hdd is way faster than a flash drive.

yep while SATA 3 maybe next year or around usb 3.0 RElease SATA III not to confuse people it suposse to be a interface much faster then SATA II But mostly Only SSD will use it at Start As it seem they are no gain or w/e to get From it on HDD Perhap they will still do it on HDD after a while

But I know that USB 3.0 may Release Exteranl HDD as it Better Then E-SATA = Great For Travel and transfer data over USB which is like 30MB/S The Limit Instead of Average Transfer speed of 250MB/S For USB 3.0 : which coudl leave to maybe also MP3 With it that Recharge Lithim ion Battery at higher speed

But By 3 year We Expect NEW Lithium ion energy one that recharge in 20 second and stay on for a full charge for a laptop : think of one of those Battery
Given in like a ipod touch if it can fit :D it would be Twice the Durability and Charge faster :P it will be nice :D
Anyway I'm curious of SATA 3. of what Record of speed they will have now.. it 2GB/s right now what next 6GB/s ?
