Hey guys, so I picked up GTAIV today, and, although it's a TON of fun, the graphics just aren't measuring up to the screenshots. Alas, I'm not surprised as I have an aged SDTV. So that's it. I've decided to start a fund in the hopes of purchasing a new TV. Well, I'm wondering which HDTV you all would recommend to me, keeping in mind that I'm not exactly ballin' these days and so a "reasonably priced" HD is what I'm looking for. Thanks a lot guys.

Well you'll probably want to stick with a 720p display, it'll be cheaper and most PS3 games are 720p so you won't be missing out on too much 1080p content except for Blu-Ray movies. How much are you looking to spend so we can find you an appropriate size and manufacturer.

I'll scope out some online retailers and see if I can find some good models for you. Just keep on eye on the thread within the next day or so.

I just got a Sanyo 42" HDTV 1080p LCD for 1000...it's great looking for games, but the tv aspect won't look good unless you have HD programming.

I just picked up a new 40 inch Samsung and I have to say I think they make the best HDTVs out there today. Not sure how big your looking to go but not sure if they have many models under a grand, didn't look for any in that price range. For 1.5k though you can get a nice 1080p one :D

try panasonic plasma tvs, id reccomend pioneer cause their tvs kick all others to the curb, but they are rather expensive.

Get a Toshiba LCD, They Have Good contrast ratio and they are ten bit panels so they dont hav severe colour banding. Toshibas are also among the bog boys like panasonic and others, samsungs nowadays are no good beacsue they are well known for very bad colour banding. look at panasonic plasmas or toshiba lcds.

I just got a Samsung LN46a550 for $1,600, 1080p and I love it. I've yet to see a big difference between 720 and a 1080p however I decided to get the 1080p because i got a great deal from CC.

I love the TV

It all depends on the price you are willing to spend.
