I don't remember if I have wrote some thing like this or not on here or has any one else but I was just wondering what this is.

My machine is a amd athlon acer with 2 gigs of ram but only able to use 1.5 of it 2 hard drives 8600 gt xxx 256mb.

When I bought this pc I was looking for a 3. what ever pc so that it would run my games better and all. So I asked a sales person was this machine a 3 what ever and he said yes so I bought it and so I think I did some thing like this I don't remrember but this one person said that it was a 2. what ever just that it is a dual in stead of a single core and said it could be compared to a intel 3 or what ever.

I would hate to think that this is only a 2 cause my old pc that I have was a 2.8 but it was only a single core processor.

Laptops aren't fitted with Athlon X2 3800+. Either that, or your battery life is about 20 minutes. You maybe using a Turion, or one of the TK-series.

right I have managed to deduce, somehow, that he thinks his CPU is a 2ghz, when the sales person said it was a 3ghz. someone might have suggested that he has a 2ghz CPU, and I think that he is bothered a little seeing his old single core was 2.8ghz.

if it is a 3800+ then it is 2ghz, and while for single applications a 2.8ghz would be faster, modern games will benefit much more form a dual core, whatever speed it is.

I think that's what he was asking. if not, then I'll get my coat.

Sorry all. All I'm tring to figure out is what is my machine is it a 2 ghz or is it a 3 ghz. That is all I want to know and this is not a laptop.

My Mom has an intel 3.o6 ghz machine and I'm just wondering is my machine comparable to hers. Some one said that mine is better then hers but I just want to know what is it a 3.0 or a 2.0 and I have a Amd machine.

lol, you should have researched more before you bought it :P

i'm running a AMD 64 x2 4200+ it doesn't run 4ghz + its 2.21 ghz. It's a different way that AMD labels their processors although I haven't ever really thought about how they come up with those numbers in comparison to the actual processor speed.

Thank you very much.

I had no I dea asking this question was going to be this hard yet simple you know and I have a hard time discribing things anyways espicaly when it come down to pcs. So the 3800+ those are just numbers and in ( ) when I see the specs in the system infor place cause when I took a look at my info about this pc it had 2.0 and then it said processors and I was just tring to figure it out for like a year and a half how fast was my pc and so now I know.

What number does it have to be in oder to get like a 3.0 ghz cause I'm thinking of that next.
