lately, half the time pc games have functional console ports... which is fine. But when you read the review, they right one review that only really talks about the console version. Its annoying, I know games made for pc will have framerate issues and other issues on console, I want to know how good the pc version is!

Honestly, I have yet to see a site that does well written, unbiased pc game reviews. If anyone knows of one though, I would love to hear about it.

giantbomb.com, gametrailers.com, ign.com, gamespot.com, g4tv.com/xplay. I know individually they are all useless! But before I get a game I literally check all of those reviews. And just kinda sum up the missing spots. I usually watch reviews just to see gameplay and sometimes hear logical thoughts distributed. But as for one single source...well, you are not gonna find one.

None of those sources mention the pc version 90% of the time.

I think most of them do but xplay, I watch xplay reviews for entertainment more than seriousness... I really enjoyed them back in the techtv days but, G4 completely ruined them. But yea, I shouldn't have mentioned them, they never do anything but PC exclusives as far as that goes. Besides, just because they are reviewing the same exact game for the console, you should be able to identify if you are going to enjoy the gameplay and whatnot. If you see from the review the game utterly sucks but it was on Xbox and you cross your fingers it's gonna be good on PC, you made a big mistake my friend.

Depends on the reasons, console ports often have poor framerates and poor controls.

Debatable, recently it appears to me that PC has been getting the bad end of most multiplatform games. With those damn companies seeming to focus on consoles way more than PC now. :( I want 40k space marines and Brutal Legend

It might seem that way, until you start playing pc games again. Brutal Legend looks awesome, but would you trade it for Starcraft 2?

Not to mention they dumb the game down for consoles making PC gamers suffer.

IGN. while it's not perfect, its review section is great for its diversities. you will find many reviews on games that aren't even mentioned on GS and GB.

I'd suggest you get a look at the game on streaming sites after you read some reviews. Go for the high-rating reviews to know the "good" parts and go for the low-rating review to know the "bad" parts.

Doesn't always work but at least you get the opinion of two differently thinking persons, and if you watch a video on youtube or so you also get an idea on how the game is played.

I always prefer reading fellow pc gamer reviews, they always give an accurate feel of what i'll be getting if you look through a few of them...i dont think i have ever taken gamespots reviews seriously, same goes for ign.

I tend to consistently trust Eurogamer over any other source at the moment, also check Zero Punctuation if he happens to be reviewing (or more likely mocking) a game you're interested in. Usually though my biggest source is from gamers themselves, I dont particularly trust mainstream reviewers (even GameSpot) due to the links they have with certain industries, they also tend to downgrade certain great games. E.g. Games like Mount & Blade and Arma are severely downrated, but are in fact great games. Just peek around the forums for each games to get a rough idea.

RockPaper Shotgun EuroGamer (has writer/s from RPS though). And the likes of which have also been metioned. I will have to check out YouGamers, going by suggestions....

I don't trust any one source, I check multiple sites for reviews (Gamespot, IGN, etc - I always add the PC keyword to my search to try and ensure relevant results). I also check for footage on YouTube and other video sites.

Go to metacritic for a complete compilation of all reviews. I usually just check Gamespot, though they aren't reliable all the time.

Well I read this post yesterday and didn't really know. I usually just check several reviews from several place and compare (including player reviews). IGN usually seems to cover pretty much everything, but their reviews are pretty sketchy. After doing some searching I haven't really found anything good. The best I could come up with is GamesRadar.

Sounds like you just want games to be rated higher just because they are on the PC.
