For me? It'd have to be the MW franchise, I love how they're both very multiplayer awesome! How about you? Whats your favorite?

Baldurs gate- icewindale series..It spanned a few years with some good games on that old engine...Nothing beat it nothing will, not even dragon age as much as i love it..No one will ever make a dnd game like, baldurs gate 2 ever again an thats just sad to me..It had every thing i loved about dnd...Shame bioware cant go back to the six party member system..The glory days of a dragonslayer sword..Stuff like this made baldurs gate fun also the strategies the spells an the characters..Boooo you guys remember the hamster )...
Battlefield 2. I would say Counter Strike: Source or WoW, but I've never encountered a hacker ONCE in Battlefield 2.
eh, hackers arent so bad T_TBattlefield 2. I would say Counter Strike: Source or WoW, but I've never encountered a hacker ONCE in Battlefield 2.

the saddest part is that I've never heard of that game :(PuNk_dUdE7
Oh c'mon, be serious: you never heard of Baldur's Gate? :o
I coudn't say a particular game is THE greatest ever: but I would like to cite Gothic 1 as one of the best. It was for sure THE one that glued me to the screen almost 24/7, along with Ravenloft: Strahd's Possession. Yeah, maybe those 2 are the best ever for me. Followed close by Ultima Underworld 1, Lands of Lore: The Throne of Chaos, Baldur's Gate 2 and Fallout 2.

Doom.
There seem to be a lot of kiddies on this board because most of the games I'm seeing are newer titles that don't even hold a candle to the true classics of PC gaming.
When I was just a lil' kid I played this game called Grim Fandango. Great game, every now and then when I feel nostalgic I just pop in the disc and play.

Great list here friend, all amazing CRPG's.
The Witcher, System Shock 2, Diablo 2, Deus Ex, World of Warcraft, Age of Mythology, Warcraft 3, HL2 and I just started playing STALKER SOC for the first time the other day (With 2009 complete mod, it is amazing looking graphically) and from what I played it seems to be an amazing game that may be worthy of my list of best PC games.
These are on my all-time greatest PC game list...
HomeWorld 2
Max Payne
UT 2004
DoW 1
Deus Ex
Total Annilation
Supreme Commander
Civilization IV
GTA III
FarCry
AoE II
And I would have to say hands down my greatest PC game ever played......System Shock 2
*+
dues ex, no questionferret-gamerWhen I saw the thread title that's where my mind immediately jumped, but I'm not entirely sure. It could also be Half Life or HL2
Dues Ex kind of encompases all that is great about PC gaming
although overall i preferred Mafia, more immersive and the setting is incredibly well realized.
