64bit OS is faster compare to a 32bit os...have you heard of AMD's 64 plateform/technology?...they were the fastest plateform for gaming...until Intel came out a C2D which blow AMD 64 away...

64bit OS's are much faster than 32bit ones. In the land of windows, don't use the 64bit alternatives at the moment, XP or Vista. Driver support is too poor and most apps are still 32bit anyway.

Linux has grasped 64bit technology well and is a good example of how well it can perform. Unfortunately it's not remotely noob friendly and game support is poor.
